Not recommend My s/o was getting cussed at my the manger, only because he was telling her to have some courtesy for me cuz Im epileptic... She started cutting him out and then threatens to call the laws on him...I simply apologized on his behalf due to the manager already charging the Las of the money I had on my card she said sign or I call the cops...

Terrible service During my stay at the hotel the Copa inn 1010 W Houston Ave., McAllen, TX, 78501 had ticks on the pillows and bed, as well as cockroaches in the room. The room was number 203. Terrible service. It was a nightmare to sleep here. :.(

Total and complete nightmare from beginning to end The first reason that I decided to stay at this hotel while visiting McAllen was because it included WiFi as part of the room charge.  Because am a Mexican national/client, it was important for me to be connected to the Internet and do some of my work activities.  When I arrived, around 1pm, the first impression I got was very bad as the receptionist was on her cell phone all the time.  And with an uncordial manner, she indicated that there was no possible way to check in now as the check in time was at 3pm.  At this moment, I advised her that I needed a room with two beds instead of one which was what I originally had reserved.  She said, $15.00 would be charged extra for the change.  I understood and agreed that these were hotel policies.  I returned at 3pm and another lady more rude than the previous one told me that I had to pay the $15.00 immediately.  I agreed to pay. Later on, when I was already in my room, I noticed that none of my 3 cell phones could be connected to the internet as I would get an error every time I would sign in.  I went down to the reception so I could get help to reset the connection.  I didn't get any help.  I was told to try again. Later, a man knocked on my room to tell me that the receptionist needed to see me right away.  I was taking care of some calls and could not go right away.  5 minutes later another lady, knocked again and very arrogantly told me that I had to go to the reception now without exceptions!  This almost felt like harasement. The receptionist said that I needed to pay $5.00 that, by error, they did not charge me.  I told her, whom she did not want to reveal her name, that if I  could talk to a manager so he could fix my WiFi or give refund me for the difference of the Wifi.  She said there was no manager and if I didn't pay the $5.00, she would call the police and/or if I didn't get my things out of the room.  I paid. My stay in this hotel was a total and complete nightmare from beginning to end.  I don't understand how someone can have people managing a hotel with no manners, very rude, unpolite and with no professionalism what so ever.  I will never recommend this hotel to any of my friends, co-workers, or family members.

Some good, some bad, and a very bad detail Failed to take pictures this time, hope to make a clear review. The good: Price: Since dollar exchange rate has gone crazy up, this time I looked for a cheaper hotel than usually book (around $100 usd per night), found this option in $70 usd per night average so I decided to try, and as expected, price fits what you get, some good, but not great, and some ugly details. Location: Right in front of La Plaza Mall, Macy´s entrance, so you can literally walk to the mall and not take your car, it can be difficult to park at the mall so location of this hotel was perfect, very accesible, also walking distance from a convenience store, manifiestos and restaurants. Bed: comfortable and clean linnig´s. The not so great: Tiny room: not a bad thing since it is functional, just to sleep, but it is small. Loud: nearby there is a sports bar that has loud music and you can hear it all, if you are light sleeper you won´t sleep until past midnight. Breakfast: It was average but big crowds of guests in a tiny space not enjoyable. The bad: Maintenance: Hotel needs a lot of maintenance, you can see paint falling of walls and doors, wood doors are rotten on edges, curtain skirting board with ruptures, overall worn building, but again, to be expected due price. The very bad: bathroom was clean but not clean enough, I could tell that they clean on rutine basis, sanitize WC and deep clean the shower bathtub but failed to look up, shower walls weren´t cleaned our hole stay, I found upon arrival some hairs and they were still there when I left, horrible detail and probably the dealbreaker for our next stay. Would stay there again... probably not, unless it is very, very cheap for it to be a better choice than the similar hotels also nearby.
