Holiday Inn Express & Suites McPherson, an IHG Hotel

Excellent experience! The staff was amazing and the property was super clean! A huge shout out to the front desk attendant, Justin. My daughter and I were here from Seattle, moving her into her college dorm. We had originally booked at a nearby motel, which turned out to be very “sketchy” and we did not feel comfortable staying there. We walked into this Holiday Inn Express and were greeted by Justin, who was sympathetic and able to immediately get us into a room! He went a step further and called us after we had settled, to make sure the room was okay…definitely an employee who went above and beyond! I would recommend this place over and over again! Thank you for the pleasurable stay!

Clean & Comfortable :-) Excellent customer service! Amanda at the front desk was welcoming, friendly & efficient. Quick & EZ checK-in was very much appreciated after a long day on the road. I made my reservation via IHG app & paperwork was already prepared, needing only signature & vehicle info. Sweet! King suite was spacious & spotless. Plenty of counter space in bathroom & generous supply of towels. Fridge/micro. Wall mounted TV. Lots of easily accessible desk & bedside outlets w/USB ports. Slept well on VERY comfortable bed w/fat, fluffy pillows. Applebees within walking distance. Next morning, continental was well tended (thx Danielle!) with wide selection of hot/cold items including REAL oatmeal (not instant!) and fresh kiwi, apples & mandarins. Ck out was as EZ as check-in had been (thx Elizabeth!) The only issue I had was the hot water, although plenty hot at the sink & tub tap, wasn't quite hot enough in shower. Will happily stay here again :-)

Bugs and dirty Stayed in an accessible room. When showering, the water made the floors very unsafe and slippery. Request extra towels so you can walk on the wet tile. We found cockroach and spiders in the room. Be careful where you put your dirty clothes because they will house a large spider. Bring house shoes,, our feet were noticeably dirty when walking in the room after a shower. The bed is also very firm. I knew better than to stay at another Holiday Inn but a majority of family booked rooms here so I followed suit.

Had Problems with Staff, Facilities were Ok I've been to Mcpherson more than once since I went to /from Oklahoma some and passed through here. I stayed here once because another place which was cheaper, was closed. It was highly overpriced - it had been newly remodled so it looked good enough. But my account and payment was mucked up and when I checked out they tried to double charge me. My bank had to straighten it out. I ended up feeling Mcpherson is a discriminatory town - its supposed to be a well to do community but I ended up quite unimpressed with how they treat people. Also my bed was so darned high up - I needed a step ladder. Breakfast was pretty good in the morning, but really the staff was not very good to me, so I cannot give it a higher recommendation.

Two night stay This hotel has a great breakfast and helpful staff BUT the bed was terrible. The indention was so deep on one side of the King bed, that one of us had to sleep in the middle of the bed away from the indention in the mattress. We informed the hotel that this room should not be rented again until this mattress was replaced. The bathroom looked clean when we arrived until we found a bowel movement in the toilet. Housekeeping came immediately and completely cleaned the bathroom. These issues gave us a bad opinion of an otherwise fine hotel.
