Disappointed by sub-standard cleanliness at this location The bed was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. However, the cleanliness was not what I have come to expect from Hampton Inn. The carpets in the lobby and hallways were filthy throughout. The seating the room was also stained and there was mold in the shower.

Bugs galore. There’s some kind of crushed up bug on the wall with its legs still there (a roach is my guess). Also saw a spider and a couple other insects. It’s 2:30 am and I can’t sleep because I’m scared something’s going to crawl on me. Went to the front desk and showed them a picture and they said they’re completely booked. Yea right. This was supposed to be a nice little get away. There’s cobwebs all over the ceiling. What a freak show. The tv shuts off constantly if you try to change the channel. Terrible just terrible. Go somewhere else if you can

Pick any other hotel in Mentor or sleep just sleep in your car. Stayed, 3/27/24. Hands down America’s worst Hampton Inn. “Pardon Our Dust,” during remodeling is tolerable, the still unidentified nauseating odor, not so much. It was like spending a night at your Aunt’s house with all of the piss but none of the cats. Despite an obvious low census, the disinterested desk clerk placed us next to the laundry room and put guests in adjacent rooms instead of leaving empty rooms between us. The elevator slowed and began to grind, giving us real reason to think it would stop. The carpet was stained as though ignored for a decade. We checked for bedbugs and were surprised to not find them.

Subpar This Mentor Ohio Hampton Inn is one of the lowest quality ones I’ve ever stayed in. The lobby is under construction which was not mentioned when booking the hotel. The rooms are outdated. There are no fridges in most rooms, except for one out of the four rooms we have booked.

Try another nearby town, hotels in Mentor are terrible or under construction... Unfortunately, as hard as folks are trying, this was a disaster. It's under construction, no discount for being there during that time, which there should be with very loud construction workers waking us up at 6 am with very loud conversation, it's not "just in the lobby" as the person at the makeshift check in assured us. The first room was not cleaned, and so we had to try a second room, which smelled terribly of smoke (reeked of smoke as if it had been a smoking room for years). The third room had to be downgraded to two queens instead of a king, no discounted pricing, but there was no fridge or mircrowave. The person checking us in checked with her manager at every question, kept calling her everytime there was an issue. We should have been given a discount or a free night, it was a nightmare. When we were getting ready to leave I would have put in a complaint, but the poor fellow at the desk looked to be about 15 and I knew he wouldn't be able to do anything for us, so we just left and went on our way. Really unfortnate. There's nothing else in Mentor if you have pets with you, so there were no options. Plan your trip ahead and stay in another nearby town, because Mentor is not where you want to land.
