Old hotel that needs refurbishment and better access. This is an old facility. For example, fully carpeted halls and rooms; ice maker that works electrically but is out of ice both evening and morning; minimal services and mostly at a charge. Continental breakfast has bagels and mini muffins and yogurt, but no croissants or pastries. A charge for many things, e.g. water bottles in room are $3.00 each except for Hilton Diamond members—at least, according to the labels prominently posted on each bottle. That alone will drive me (a Hilton member) back to Marriott. Outside parking areas have many cigarette butts and some empty bottles and beer cans showing up in the morning as we checked out. Elevators had badly stained metal paneling and some chips in wood paneling. The elevators worked fine but give off the appearance that this place will be a real dump at worst and an old, worn-out hotel at best. The staff was friendly enough. The room was clean except for a piece of candy or cracker on the desk chair and a few crumbs underneath. One corner of the desk had some sticky residue on one corner. Old but clean bathroom. The bed linens were clean and the bed and pillows were comfortable. A/C and thermostats worked okay. Electric plugs and places to plug in cell phones, watches, hearing aids etc. were very good except, like most motels, there was only one plug on one side of the king bed while the other side had plenty. Overall, this place was a clean enough dowdy place that was surprisingly comfortable. We didn’t use the pool, but the water looked clean. The road access to this place is very difficult and tricky; this is the fault of the city streets and not of the hotel. Even with Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps, once you take Exit 3, good luck and enjoy some very confusing times. You are likely to be frustrated. Even when you finally see the hotel, the “adventure” is not over—and you can criticize the hotel for the adventure. Enter at the Drury Inn sign, not at the Hilton Garden sign. There is no entrance off the service road at the Hilton sign. So if you make the mistake by thinking that the Hilton entrance sign is an entrance (foolish us), then you can circle the block only to find out that there is no rear entrance to the hotel; you have to do a big loop and start again where you were five minutes ago and start the process again, now being educated that you enter the Drury parking area, not the Hilton Gardens non-existent entrance, and then weave you way over to the Hilton Gardens from inside the Drury parking area. The coffee here is good, and just when you think maybe this place isn’t so bad after all, you may be reminded of some negatives as you tip toe among cigarette butts while loading your car in the morning. We have stayed in several excellent Hilton Gardens hotels within the past year, including staying a week at one in Roanoke. This hotel in Mobile teaches me no longer to rely on the Hilton Gardens brand is selecting a hotel; read customer reviews very carefully to decide if it’s the place you want to stay. Again, the positive things are: the room is comfortable and mostly clean, with a clean bathroom (old tub with a high step in, but with a well-placed hand rail) and a large enough sink counter. The staff was friendly enough, and the sleeping is comfortable. But I don’t see how it gets so many 4-star ratings. A 3-star rating would be generous.

Would recommend to family and/or friends. Clean, comfortable and felt very safe. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while in town for Rock the Country in June 2024. We booked the hotel back in January because we knew we would not be able to find a room anywhere closer to time of the shows. While we had a few hiccups during our stay, I have to say that the staff made sure that we were FULLY taken care of during our stay. I have to give a HUGE thank you to staff members Kayla C. and Carlos. Those two employees were life savers and the friendliest people we've ever encountered at a hotel. The hotel was clean, comfortable and we felt very safe. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family traveling to Mobile.

Good, functional, but nothing exceptional Good, functional hotel. Right off the interstate, yet odd way to get there due to the interesting access road situation in Mobile. Kind of sits by itself in a row of budget hotels. The lobby is very nice, very pleasing, soft music tinkling in the background and that sets a nice mood. Front desk Madisen checked me in quickly and was kind enough to check on me a couple of times while I was there. That is nice. I will mention that my Hilton status was never brought up.I would usually be offered some bottled water and welcomed due to that but not this time. Even though I had booked using Hilton points. Listen, I’m not even that high up in the grand scheme of things so it doesn’t mean much, just comparing my experience to other Hilton properties which I stay at exclusively. The room was large and comfortable albeit a little dated, it was still fine I will say that the elevator looked like a crime had happened in it…there was a large, odd smudge of ‘something’ on the panel and some kind of mysterious stain all the way down the chrome. Not appealing. I was just here for two nights and it totally served its purpose but it’s not much more than a quick place to stay on the side of the interstate. Average in the landscape of hotel stays.

Friendly front desk staff at check-in, and excellent omelet for breakfast - a great experience Very friendly staff at check-in, and excellent made-to-order omelets for breakfast. A very clean and pleasant hotel visit. We always choose this Hilton Garden Inn when we visit Mobile. For this visit, Kayla C. Cook provided excellent service both at check-in last night, and she was also the chef for breakfast this morning.
