Super Nice Hotel More than just the hotel what we really loved about this Double Tree was the service. We were greeted and valet parked our car. The front desk was great. We wanted some sort of a view, not the parking lot and they were able to deal with that. They spent time with us and clearly wanted us to be happy. We had someone take all our bags to the room and he was great. The maid staff is friendly and when you ask for extra towels and soap they are right on it. All of them could be working at a resort. I really felt appreciated. Our room was spotless, we had a double room, and the beds were very comfortable. We asked for an additional pillow and had it in 10 minutes. The AC works great, it was very hot that day. The bathroom was a decent size and boy was it clean. Everything worked and we were able to get on line very fast. We were tired both days so we just ate there. It was great. From breakfast to dinner we were very happy. They are located right off Highway 99, next door to Modesto Centre Plaza and a movie theater. We did not go to the movies so I have no idea if it is nice. The hotel is only blocks from the Gallo Center for the Arts, State Theatre, and McHenry Mansion. It is nice to just take a walk at night. Modesto is a small town but it is friendly and a great place to find peace and quiet. We always love the warm DoubleTree cookie at check-in. They have a nice outdoor pool and we took full advantage of it. It was clean and very comfortable. The fitness center is well fitted and kept very clean. It was never crowded when we were there. We loved it. We indulged in a few treatments at the AVEDA spa and then had a great, quiet nap. We loved all of it.

For a Hilton the services are sub-standard Don't expect a Hilton experience. The rooms are okay, but the service at the reception is just barely polite and more desinterested. Breakfast is ok-ish, but again not what I am used to at an Hilton, more like the breakfast you get at a roadside inn.

Rudeness all around, don’t expect much from the people at the desk! I’m staying 2 nights at the Double Tree By Hilton Hotel and I’m going out of my way to write this bad review .. it’s simply too rude to ignore the treatment I just received by the staff at the lobby, this is total disrespect. It’s early AM and there’s nobody’ else around the lobby, but yet they won’t give you the time of day, nevertheless a polite, courteous answer to a simple question such as ‘where is the restaurant’ .. it was like ‘how dare you talk to me’. Then I said can I buy coffee here? .. and that pissed the lady off so bad making me feel like a villain! Both of them the guy and the lady at the counter were the same rudeness.. I’m so tuned off by people like them who thinks they are entitled to abuse customers. It doesn’t cost anything to be nice.

ZERO STARS FOR Pervez Khan The manger Pervez Khan has an attitude problem. He treated us like garbage when we complained about a dirty room on our floor which had human feces all on our floor. When you phone and complain he says i'm putting the phone down. He treats his own race good but other races he treats like dirt.
