Clean and quiet. We stayed for just 12 hours, but it was a great experience. The room was clean, and the breakfast was good. Although our view faced the highway, the room was surprisingly quiet. The pictures on the website accurately reflect what you get. The location is convenient, close to all attractions.

Decent stay, but a bit of a rip with no frills. Decent stay, but place was exceptionally boring. Absolutely no frills. Not even a computer to use, which seems to be in virtually every other place we've stayed. Somebody mentioned a fitness center. Not here. Room and bed were comfortable, and the TV worked well. Location seems a bit isolated from the main parts of town, so it is essential to have a car. Somebody mentioned walking to Fisherman's Wharf. Seemed like a 10-minute car ride to get near there and to the Aquarium (which was excellent but incredibly expensive and crowded). Also, a car ride to the main drag, Aldorado St., where there are some cool places to eat and shop. Kudos to the Peet's coffee place with outdoor seating at an outdoor bar with great beer. Breakfast was pretty minimal- eggs, no potatoes, (sausages which I don't eat), weak coffee, OJ, nothing spectacular. Did I mention that the place was expensive. We spent an equal amount of time in Santa Cruz Hyatt for half the price and included was all the things that were missing here (along with a pool).

Hotel fine, front desk person extremely rude Have stayed at Monterey Hampton Inn a few times before and always had good experiences until this time. I am Hilton Diamond for Life because I have stayed in Hilton properties well over 1,000 nights at this point. That said, I have NEVER been treated so rudely by a front desk person! I was using hard earned points for my stay/vacation. VINCENT was working the front desk when we checked in. He told me there would be a $50 hold on my credit card for incidentals which was completely fine. ONLY out of curiosity and making conversation, I asked what incidentals would be at this Hampton Inn since they do not have a restaurant or bar. He became completely defensive and rude from the question. I tried to calmly explain to him that I was only curious and didn’t mind the hold. It was sooo strange because I also stated that I wasn’t being argumentative and I felt like we were having miscommunication, but he just continued to act annoyed by me and became more and more rude. I was completely baffled and surprised by his attitude. I then asked him his name and be basically “yelled” Vincent in a loud and condescending way. I guess he knows he will have no repercussions. I did tell him that he really needs to work on his customer service skills and was very taken aback by his rudeness. On other topics, we knew this was a dog friendly hotel and loved that. My travel is mostly business and I don’t normally travel with my dog. I take full responsibility for not checking out a pet fee in advance. It was $75 which I feel is very reasonable! Also, parking is free. Location is convenient but doesn’t feel super safe to walk around. Hotel condition is fine. To summarize, if not for the rude front desk which put a damper on my vacation, everything else about the hotel was fine. I’ve stayed at the Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn in the area also and have had good experiences at both.

Clean. Quite. Simple The hotel was clean. I’m driving down the coast from Portland and this was the first Hilton property on the trip that didn’t have any issues with the sheets. My only complaint is that the shower head could use a vinegar soak - this was an issue in both rooms.

Spacious & Clean We stayed a night here and overall it was a good experience. We got two connecting rooms. Breakfast and parking were free. The hotel is close enough for sightseeing and near In-N-Out if anyone cares. The area is walkable and we took a stroll in the afternoon. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean and spacious.
