A Diamond Among Stones Hotel is conveniently located in an area full of retail and restaurant options. It quietly sits back off the main road where there’s not a heavy traffic flow. The hotel is currently going through a major renovation, but the construction workers are out of the way and the hotel is extremely quiet in the evening. The rooms have a fresh, modern look and it’s great having a full size fridge and other amenities in the room. Housekeeping has done a great job of cleaning the room ( I work for the dept of health so I just naturally do an additional cleaning/disinfecting when we check in, and the wipes all came up spotless!). BUT, the real jewel of the hotel is not the room or its location. The true gem is Ms. Debra!!!! You should be so lucky to be greeted by her warm smile and sweet spirit! We have stayed twice during the renovations and she has been a joy. She immediately greets you and makes you feel comfortable and welcomed. Everybody should have a Ms. Debra at their establishment. We have come to town regularly and stayed in the area at another hotel, but we have decided that this hotel will be a staple for us moving forward. There’s a Cracker Barrel across the parking lot if you want to grab a bite to eat as well as a Milo’s, Taco Bell & other food options. Price point, location, convenience, cleanliness and staff- this place checks all the marks!

Call hotel directly before you stay The hotel is undergoing major renovations. We booked through Priceline so weren’t aware. Not a big deal. Staff were really nice. The lobby & entire first floor was under construction. We stayed for two nights on the third floor. Some rooms on this floor were also under construction. This was a remodeled unit. Nice. Bed and pillows are comfy. It has a full-sized refrigerator, a mini stove, microwave, coffee maker, glasses, etc. The hotel is about a 2 minute walk to Cracker Barrel, about a 10 minute drive to shops and restaurants. But … here's where we encountered our *major issue…. the water pressure in the shower sucked. It was not powerful AT ALL. There were maybe five settings on the shower head and all of them had water flowing out coming straight *down. The water was trickling out. No force to spray the water to the back or even halfway back in the shower. So you end up taking like 30 minutes in the shower to properly get all the soap off your body. We spoke with a staff member who shares the low water pressure could be due to workers using it(?) But she asked for our room # and said she would inform the manager. Never heard from anyone. The second thing is due to the dust particles that flow through the vents from the renovation, my husband's allergies really kicked into high gear. He couldn't sleep really because he kept coughing. He bought allergy medication, even took melatonin but it didn't really work. I recommend calling and asking if the water pressure has been fixed before you stay.

CLEAN, FRIENDLY -- AND A TERRIFIC PRICE...!!! First ever stay at a Candlewood (trying all the IHG brands during their Status Match Promotion) — and we could not have been happier. Forget some of the lousy reviews because this is absolutely spotless, you’ll even see staffers cleaning hallway blinds long after the rooms have been readied for new guests. We were greeted warmly by the highly efficient and friendly Courtney and told of the ice machine, fitness room (with free weights), 24-hour coffee dispenser and free laundry room (3 washers, 4 dryers -- free!!!) all right adjacent to the lobby. Parking is plentiful. We had the Queen 1-Bedroom, which was spacious (especially the roomy bathroom with a tub), screened windows open for a breeze, all the kitchen essentials you could need including a 2-cup coffee maker. It’s safe to say, we will surely be on the lookout for our next Candlewood! Thanks so much, Courtney!

This Hotel Review Was Saved by Garreayau (Front Desk Person) I figured I would try this hotel instead of the place I normally stay in Montgomery just to check it out. When I arrived, my room smelled of dog, which I decided to deal with. However, when the fleas started biting, I couldn't take it. So, I went to the front desk and let Garreauyau know what was going on. The hotel was fully booked and it took a little while of searching, but she finally moved me up to the nicest, cleanest room. I felt like she bent over backwards to accommodate me, and was very apologetic about my experience. Plus, we had a lovely conversation. Ya'll better keep that amazing lady! I may actually book there again just because of her. I was there to study for final exams and enjoyed the large desk space to work. The kitchen made it easy for me to keep all of my snacks and drinks nearby; and the location was convenient to most everything.
