Accommodating to late night travelers In March I had a family emergency for which I had to travel with no planning. I found out about the emergency Sunday, I was on a flight Monday morning. Having not planned ahead, I didn't have any hotel reservations, and I asked my husband who was back at home to help me find a place that would accept me in the middle of the night. He found that the Comfort Inn Morganton would do 24 hour check in. I arrived In Morganton around 3am, long past the time many other hotels in the area allow check in. A gentleman named Tu (I hope I spelled it right) quickly checked me in, for which I was very grateful. My room was immaculate, the hotel was quiet, and the bed was comfortable. I got a great few hours of sleep before I hit the road again the next morning. The location is convenient, and just down the street was a Denny's where I had breakfast.

Clean Reasonable Hotel This location is a small, fairly dated hotel; however, it is clean, and the staff are very polite. Our room seemed to run "warm" no matter the setting, and PLEASE put ventilation in the bathroom. Everything felt "damp" due to no ventilation. Breakfast is simple, but enough. Overall, for the price and location, I would recommend it

Dreadful experience. Do not recommend. We reserved a handicap accessible room, a few months in advance at this “pet friendly hotel“. Upon arrival I was advised “pets are not allowed in the handicap rooms.“ It was Christmas day, so I had no choice but to go ahead and accept whatever room they would give me. Of course they put me in a non-handicap room. That means non-handicapped people get treated one way and handicapped get treated another way. How is that not discrimination? But wait, it gets worse. The front doors are big, heavy, sliding doors and do not work. I’ve attached a picture of the sign that they hung on the door advising you that you have to open and close these big heavy doors yourself. Which, of course is extremely difficult for someone who’s handicapped. Even though I requested in the booking to have a room close to ANY exit door, and I asked at check in, the guy gave me a room in the middle of the floor directly between all exits… Which means anytime I need to walk my dog I have to walk about as far as you can possibly have to walk to get to an exit. The story isn’t over yet. The room was poorly cleaned and in disrepair. A big hole in the wall behind the door was poorly repaired and the materials are falling out. The bathroom paint is peeling and falling into the tub. To top it all off, the vending machines on my floor were not working. All in all this place provided a dreadful, miserable experience.

Excellent Due to unforeseen incident we were left to stay at this comfort inn for 3 nights. The front desk woman and male throughout our stay made us feel very comfortable and at easy. Very helpful when it came to ordering food and finding a taxi when we needed it. I am happy we ended up here. Couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. I would recommend this place to another that needs a rest during their travels.

Great Stay despite Hotels.com Our vacation began with finding out that hotels.com never sent our booking to the hotel. So no reservation had ever been done so the hotel was running out of rooms that night and had already ran out of the room we had booked. After over two hours of the Hotel Concierge and myself calling Hotels.com and getting transferred and hung up on several times, Nate saved the day and got us one of the last rooms left and helped us squeeze in with a roll away cott. He helped make our stay as comfortable as possible. All the staff at Comfort Inn & Suites in Morganton were extremely friendly and very helpful. The hotel stay was quite and our room was nice. Not a lot of traffic noise either with it's location. If ever back in Morganton, we will definitely plan to stay here but we will call directly, no more "third party bookings".
