Sleep Inn & Suites Mount Vernon

Great room and friendly staff! Very nice hotel with a friendly staff. Breakfast room was immaculate as was our room, which was not only clean, but sooo comfortable. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection. The coffee was amazingly good. We have stayed here several times and will again!

Nice Stay This is an excellent place to stay. Very clean and up to date. Stayed in a suite. Very spacious and clean with TV in both rooms. Bathroom was larger than most I have stayed at in other hotels. Very quite and there were room temperature settings for both rooms. you could walk to Hardees, Dairy Queen and a Mexican Restaurant. Plenty of parking. Needed outside windows cleaned. Breakfast was below average. Juice machine was down-could have had orange juice in the small ice box. Rest of breakfast was typical hotel items- nothing real special. if you are going to Cornell College for an event, this is a good place to stay. Did not get a printed receipt as no one was at the front desk.

Convenient to Iowa City/Cedar Rapids We have chosen to stay at this hotel several times because of its closeness to both Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. Our rooms have always been well-equipped, quiet, and comfortable. The rooms have always been clean as well. We have had excellent sleep at this hotel. The staff has always been friendly and eager to help.

Mount Vernon Sleep Inn Enjoyed our stay in Mount Vernon. Great little town with lots of shops, good food, & Friendly people. The staff at Sleep Inn was very kind & courteous. Breakfast was Wonderful! Would absolutely suggest here as the place to stay!

AN UNPLANNED ONE NIGHT STAY This was an unplanned, last minute overnight stop during a long road trip. I had made a reservation at another hotel but due to an unexpected power outage they could not accommodate me. I used the Choice Hotel App and found the Sleep Inn in Mount Vernon was close to my route of travel, so I made a last-minute reservation using the App. I arrived about 2-hours after making the reservation and was immediately greeted and made to feel welcome. Check in was quick and I was in my room. The room was relatively clean, but there was trash from a previous guest in both the trash can in the room and in the bathroom. I mentioned this to the front desk employee who immediately move me to another room The second room was clean well attended. The bed was clean, well made, and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was only ok. It was slow at times and especially when a lot of guest were attempting to use it. Later in the evening it worked very well and served my need. There is a Hardee’s, Subway, and a Casey’s nearby. If you want something more, I would strongly suggest that you get it before arriving. There is nothing else close by that I could find. The parking lot is in good condition and well lit. After the initial hiccup with the first room my stay was good. The employees that I encountered were all friendly and very accommodating. This hotel is kind of remote and out of the way, but all things considered, I would stay here again.
