Move along! I'm giving a generous rating, as I would rate the hotel a 2.5 if I could. I travel frequently and usually stay in hotels owned by the competition, but was tired and thought I would try Holiday Inn. The outside of the hotel front didn't look bad and the lobby area was clean, however the parking is bad with very narrow spots crammed into the front of the hotel. You are able to park along the side of the hotel, but there you can get a Birdseye view of how run down the building really is. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and accommodating, as the original room I was assigned had water on the floor by the bathtub. I didn't notice it at first because the lighting in the bathroom was almost non-existent. The room I was then given was a handicap room, which was spacious and basically clean, but the shower area was haphazardly caulked and the sink area extremely small. There was also a strong sewer smell coming into the bathroom and there was no hot water coming from the sink. The curtains would not close completely as they were partially off the rod and the blackout curtain had numerous holes and cracked areas from age. The carpets in the hallway were dingy and the naugahyde on the chairs in the dining area was pitted and cracked with foam evident on the seats. I did not use the laundry area or the ice machine so don't know anything about those items previously mentioned by other reviewers. The bed was very comfortable, however. The truth is, if I hadn't been driving and was able to read all of the other negative reviews, I would have moved on...wish I had now!

Skip this one This hotel is in the typical cluster of several different hotel brands and properties We spent a little more and chose the trusted IHG brand. From the minute we walked in, my husband remarked, “this is not a Hilidsy Inn.” Wiring issues in the room, curtains falling off the rail, pool was green and not useable — and it was 100 degrees outside. This location is about 20 minutes from the Nashville NASCAR track and 10 minutes to MTSU - so we surmised that’s why all the area hotels were grossly overpriced. It was a NASCAR race weekend apparently. The only positive to this hotel was the mattress. It was better than most we have slept on recently. The room was huge. Could have easily accommodated two king beds - but the bathroom was tiny. The floor mat would get caught in the door because there was just simply no floor space in the bathroom. After surveying the area - we know next time we will stay at any of the cheaper properties in the area. The Rodeway inn down the street in the Walmart parking lot @82/night would have given us the same experience WITH a pool. Save your money on this one. It’s not what you expect from IHG. At $200/night, I felt bamboozled.

Some hits and unfortunately a few more negatives. Move along. First the good. The room was very clean, and the A/C worked like a beast. The downside of the room was that the toilet seat looked like it was chewed on by a rodent and the shower drain seemed to be plugged. I asked the maid to contact maintenance but over 3 days they just couldn't seem to get around to it. Likewise, all three days one of the elevators didn't work nor did the guest laundry services. The breakfast offered was good however, somehow the biscuits were about to make it out on time, but the sausage gravy couldn't seem to get there. The elevator carpet was nasty with dirt. I would opt for other locations in the area as you have lots of choices and price ranges.

Overpriced for the condition. My rating was generous. I stay at IHG 90% of my travels but this one missed. My room was clean but this place is terrible by IHG standards. I did not encounter any rude staff but this place is in serious need of an overhaul for what they charge. Breakfast was limited, not sure why. The rear parking area is trashy and overgrown. The lobby was clean. My room had mold around a badly repaired bathroom ceiling and sink. I won’t stay again.

Fraudulent booking IHG advertises breakfast included in the room rate. After check-in they inform "the truck didn't show up" but they will credit your bill to remove the breakfast later. The person at the desk in the morning said they have been having problems with this and it was at least the 4th day in a row the food truck “did not show up”. We asked why they don't go 2 blocks down street and buy eggs, sausage, rolls at Sam's Club. The response, "we are not incompetent, if we could do that we would." They did not seem to know why they could not do that. Both rooms we stayed in had issues. The Queen suite had the toilet overflow and we were forced to evacuate the room at 3am and separate into two different rooms on different floors. Hotel staff said a soccer team stayed the night before and these things always happen after they have sports teams stay. General Manager, James Council, now refuses to credit the breakfast charges for our rooms and refuses to credit for the queen room after making us move in the middle of the night.
