Amazing Experience OMG...this place is so full of charm and history. Located in the quaint New Orleans French Quarter, the Andrew Jackson Hotel has all the charm and ambience of this wonderful area. The rooms were immaculate and the manager "William" was incredible! He was quite a charmer with his home grown New Orleans charm. And one fun fact was that the hotel was "supposedly" haunted ...yikes! Boo! which made it that much more fun!

Disgustingly Filthy This is a property well past it’s prime. The structure isn’t being maintained and the pictures on the website are very misleading. Without any reservation I can say that this was the filthiest hotel I have stayed in anywhere in the world. The Andrew Jackson Hotel must have missed the email about cleanliness during the pandemic. It doesn’t appear to have been cleaned in years. There is no elevator, so I had to use the stairs with the assistance of the railing. As a precaution, I wiped the railing down and couldn’t believe how dirty it was. I mentioned it to the desk clerk, a very nice young man, William, I believe, and he cleaned it himself. I then noticed filth in the stair well. In my room, the bathroom vent was so clogged with gunk, I didn’t dare turn it on. The window sills were filthy. I was so paranoid, I sprayed the entire room down with Lysol and must have used a quart of hand sanitizer. I’m not exaggerating. It was frightening that a hotel could be this deeply dirty. In addition, there was a wall plate missing from a plug by the bed. Can you imagine having children in that room? I cannot believe that La. doesn’t have some standards or oversight over hotels. Oh yea, the security lock didn’t work, but the fire alarm did as we found out with a false alarm at midnight. Other than this, the hotel is in a great location and the bed was comfortable and didn’t have bed bugs, We checked. And, all the desk clerks, particularly William, were extremely nice and accommodating. Nice hotels looking for a good desk clerk should hire William. I forgot, the sink leaked all over the floor in the bathroom. Fortunately, they fixed it promptly. We learned to stop asking, “what else could go wrong.”

Awful with the Exception of William First, we were spoofed into using CCI Hotel Reservations (thinking we were dealing directly with the hotel) who not only charged us up front for our whole 4-night stay but also misinformed us that the hotel had parking for their guests. William, the desk clerk, apologized for our experience and helped us find parking. We were upset but William remained calm and patiently assisted us. After checking in and finding parking, we found that the stairwell handrails were filthy. We tried to clean them with paper towels to no avail. One of us has a disability and must depend on handrails. We mentioned how dirty the handrails were to William. He immediately apologized. After we got back from dining, we discovered that William once again had gone above and beyond to personally clean the handrails. Clearly, however, William was a one-man show. Our bathroom was filthy - the vent was clogged with dust and dirt and who knows what else - stuff was handing out of the vent. There was also dirt and dust, etc on the bathroom door. The bathroom sink leaked and had to be repaired. The refrigerator froze everything we put in it because the refrigerator door would not remain closed if you completely shut the cabinet doors in which the refrigerator had been placed. On our 3rd day we realized we had to leave the cabinet doors partially open in order to allow the refrigerator doors to fully close. A couple of times we ate in the courtyard; however, there was no place to dispose of our garbage and left-overs. We did not want to put it in the garbage can in the lobby or our room because we did not want the left-over food to smell up the place. Both nights, we walked out to the street and placed our garbage and left-overs in the City-provided garbage containers. The first night we mentioned that there was no place to put our left-overs but the desk clerk - NOT William - apparently did nothing to remedy the situation.

Cute hotel with good service What a cute boutique hotel with history. Our room was small but just enough room as needed. Overall it was clean and smelled good. Loved the location which was close to so many things in the French quarter. Sennit (think this was his name) who worked the front desk was awesome. We came in late, 11pm, from a very long drive, and he was sweet enough to say don’t worry about rushing to move our car and to rest for a few before going to search for parking. He also was a sweetheart by providing both my husband and I umbrellas as it had just began to rain as we were headed out for dinner. I’d stay here again.

Old school room, great location This was a very nice mini hotel. Right in the middle of the French Quarter, everything was 15 minutes or less walking. Room was nice, smaller than most hotel room, but considering the historic value of the loaction, it was perfect. I hope you get to meet William, he put the icing on the cake.
