Poor Guest Service I was recently a guest at The Westin New Orleans from January 28 to February 1, 2026, attending a medical congress. While the overall experience did not meet the standards expected of a property of this caliber, I encountered several issues that warrant your attention. Among the less satisfactory aspects were a malfunctioning shower with insufficient hot water and a mediocre breakfast offering. These, however, were not the primary concern. During my stay, I had arranged for several packages to be delivered to the hotel, with estimated arrival dates falling within my reservation period. Unfortunately, due to severe storms affecting the United States, all deliveries were significantly delayed and would not arrive before my departure. I contacted the respective vendors, who informed me that, as the items had already been dispatched, cancellation was no longer possible. However, they assured me that if the hotel refused acceptance upon delivery, the packages would be automatically returned to the sender, allowing me to obtain a full refund. On two separate occasions, I explicitly requested the front desk to refuse any incoming packages addressed to me, emphasizing the importance of this action for my financial reimbursement. The staff assured me that this would be handled without difficulty. Despite these clear instructions, the hotel accepted at least three of the packages. After my departure, I called the hotel again to reiterate the request that any remaining or future deliveries be refused. I was assisted by a staff member named Mitchel, whose tone and behavior were exceptionally rude, discourteous, and aggressive. He stated that he would send me an email containing instructions to resolve the matter; however, no such email has been received to date. I subsequently contacted the front desk once more. The representative promised to address the issue and provide a follow-up, yet I have received no further communication or resolution. The hotel is currently in possession of three packages belonging to me, and despite repeated attempts, I have been unable to obtain any meaningful assistance or solution.

Nice hotel to stay in New Orleans, but be warned of destination fee Nice Hotel in great location. Very clean with friendly, helpful staff. BUT... two things rubbed us the wrong way. First is that the hotel is located next to railroad tracks, and the early morning freight trains sounding their horns for minutes at a time are disturbing to your sleep and peace. The second issue, and most annoying is a "destination fee" that is clearly disclosed. This fee is an additional $30 per night. Supposed to be for conveniences that other chains provide for free. They tell you that you can get a credit ($15) for food, but then their food is so much more expensive than other options. Ex. We had breakfast one morning there, nothing excessive...and spent $70 in order to get a $15 credit. It didn't ruin our trip, but it was a factor that may have made me consider other hotel options. Overall, the Westin is located in a convenient spot for a visit to New Orleans- next to the Riverwalk, a short walk to the French Quarter and lots of great restaurants and attractions.
