NYC in October One week stay here and it was good Location is great and walkable to many things including the subway. Breakfast options are very good. Happy hour was nice bonus Roof top viewing area Rooms were pretty good for this level and for NYC There were lift dramas with one not working which caused some long waits but you simply have to accept these things I'd stay again

Good location, room but room for service improvement My wife and I stayed at this hotel for thanksgiving week. The location is ideally for Times Square, broadway and the like if the high line walk, Hudsons yard and many more must go to places. The room itself was good, water pressure in the bathroom, espy the shower was inadequate and the sink drainage poor. Our biggest gripe was our check-in upon arrival. The lady who eventually checked us in kept us waiting whilst she gathered and restocked room card keys, something which should have been done after we had been checked in. I did raise the bathroom and check-in experience with the manager.

Will Stay Again! They fixed the elevators! We were a little leary of booking this hotel because of the elevator reviews. But the rates were acceptable for us and we're glad we decided to take a chance. Yes, the elevator situation is a bit frustrating. This is MOSTLY during breakfast hours. It's a 40 floor hotel with only 2 working elevators and everybody wants to take advantage of the complementary breakfast (a rarity in NYC). The elevators are staffed during these times which helps some. If you pay attention to the signs advising when the elevator "lines"/waits are shorter, you should have no problem. For the most part, folks are pretty polite about forming up a fair queue when necessary. We never experienced a wait of more than 5 minutes. Maybe the staff has gotten better at managing this over time. We didn't find any issues with elevator wait times outside of the breakfast hours. We stayed on a M/T/W (weekdays) and have no way to compare if it's different on the weekends. Our queen room was clean and comfortable, with the exception of a stray hair on the bathroom counter, which I wiped away. Front desk staff was ALWAYS pleasant and welcoming. Extra kudos to Julie at check in, what a sweetheart.  The breakfast area was crowded. I would suggest getting breakfast on the early side if possible. The breakfast staff worked their tails off keeping everything stocked and clean. They were very polite and helpful. There was some variety in the hot cooked selections every day.  Location is great. It is a little over a half mile walk to Times Square. By the end of our stay, all three elevators were working! We are definitely keeping the Element on our short list for NYC stays.
