Great Location/Small, Open Concept Bathrooms/Unnecesary Resort Fee The location is excellent, but the rooms are not well-suited for families or friends traveling together. There is nowhere to sit or gather, and the rooms feel a bit dark despite their modern design. Functionality varies significantly between rooms. Our first room was very quiet and felt spacious, but there was nowhere to store our belongings. For instance, one side of the bed had no nightstand, outlet, or surface to place anything. The second room we stayed in offered better storage, but we could hear everything from the surrounding rooms and hallway. Additionally, many bathrooms are open-concept, which might not be ideal if you’re traveling with someone. There is also a daily $30 resort fee, which is typical at many hotels but doesn’t offer much value. The fee includes a $10 daily food credit, yet most food items cost more than $10, and the credit cannot be applied to alcohol. While the location was convenient and the hotel clean, it wasn’t ideal or cost-effective during our visit. That said, considering NYC hotels are often dark, small, and expensive, I wouldn’t rule out staying here again—as it was clean and had a somewhat modern vibe.

Good location, average rooms for NYC. Good location but overall a bit underwhelmed by the overall experience. Staff is super nice but we had some issues with housekeeping cleanliness. Room is a fine size for NYC, nice rainwater shower but sink and counter are shallow / small making it difficult for a party of two to have adequate space. Terrace was under construction and elevators were very slow.

Avoid at all costs Great location but other than that there is not much going for this property. Things to be aware of before you book: 1) no fridge in the room 2) internet is intermittent. Not a big deal except that ‘premium internet’ is one of the supposed benefits of the compulsory $30 a night destination fee 3) rooms are only cleaned if you request it. And you have to ask each day. I returned to the hotel every day after 3pm and room was never clean so then wasted at least an hour each day sitting in the tiny and freezing lobby waiting 4) overall the rooms and the hotel are not very clean 5) lifts don’t always work 6) Morning coffee in the lobby is cold and nasty. Again not a big deal except that it is listed as one of the justifications for the $30 per night compulsory destination fee 7) construction on the outside of the building is noisy 8) very noisy in room due to the very loud doors on all the rooms 9) lobby staff are friendly but spend most of their time talking to each other about their personal lives. I know this as I spent more than 10 hours sitting in the lobby across our stay waiting for the room to be cleaned 10) when they renovated (I’ve stayed here before) they shrunk the lobby to 1/4 of its original size to put in a bar. Results in a very crowded lobby and an empty bar 11) don’t expect a doorman to help you in with your bags, which is tricky when juggling suitcases, children and the winter doors. There are lots of options to stay in Manhattan, I recommend trying elsewhere

Great location This Hyatt is one of the few brand name hotels near Union Square. You’re effectively paying for the location, but it’s a great one for getting around the city (with basically every subway line a step away). The rooms are tiny, but modern and clean. The service wasn’t great (I asked for silverware multiple times and it was never delivered and my food was getting cold, so I ate my dinner with a mini spoon for the espresso). I’d definitely stay here again if my trip is focused on downtown activities.

Disappointed for hyped up hotel This was supposed to be a AAA four diamond hotel and we were really disappointed with the cleanliness. There was hair on the shower wall from the last guests and looked like the tiles hadn’t been scrubbed in a while. The floors also had a film like a dirty mop was used. I expected a lot more for a hotel the was going for $1k a night the weekend we stayed there. I know it’s NYC but this location seems overpriced and over hyped for the rates they ask for. I’m a Hyatt explorist member and have stayed at other locations in and around the city for reference.
