The perfect NYC holiday! An amazing experience in NYC for the holidays! My first time staying at Arthouse, and I have to say I will definitely be back. Check in was very quick, and I was thankful the front desk offered me a better room with a view on a higher floor with no extra charge. I stayed alone in a king bedroom and felt like there was just enough space. The location is probably the best part. Super easy to walk to lots of sights in the UWS and also easy to reach the subway. My room was turned over every day and always had enough towels. No complaints here.

Watch out for the 'Urban Fee' The hotel is a bit expensive for what it is. But it is actually more expensive than it seems. Without any notice, they add an 'Urban Fee' of $44.75 (including tax), which is nowhere mentioned or explained during the booking process. When I questioned it, they say it is mandatory and non-refundable and covers wifi, domestic telephone lines, and the gym. Frankly, no other hotel I have stayed in in the last twenty years has charged extra for wifi. It seems to me that it is a simple scam. Once this fee is added, there are much better hotels in NYC for the price.

Good location, very comfortable Very good location. Clean and quiet. There is a pastry shop as well as a bar and restaurant nearby. Subway is 2 blocks away.

Hotel is not operating like it used to- two bad experiences in past 2 months. I have been going to the art house hotel for years and I’ve loved it and had so many great experiences, but I have to be honest that at a state I had this November it was not the same and a lot of the care and attention to detail that I was used to was not there. And then I just went back with my family for our annual trip during the holidays and it was a very unpleasant experience from a very delayed check-in to a room not ready to the heating not working and it was just more of an inconvenience than a Help I really do hope that they are on top of these Miss steps and the art house hotel goes back to being what it used to be because I did love staying there and I love the location, but I am frustrated and disappointed.

Christmas in New York! I brought my 19 and 20 year old kids as a birthday and Christmas present. I wanted to be in the city 4 star hotel or better but didn’t want to pay too much. This was a Great location. Clean. Good staff!
