A museum not a hotel 2025. The hotel is called The Manhattan, and yes, it’s actually in Manhattan. You’d think that would mean a hint of modern comfort. But apparently, even Wi-Fi here is a rare artifact. The rooms seem to have been designed for guests who bring one device — or perhaps none — but infinite patience. At the moment, I’m charging my laptop while balancing it on the edge of the bed because there’s nowhere else to plug it in. There’s not a single accessible outlet near the desk, the bed, or the TV. Two lonely sockets exist — both at floor level, one conveniently beside the air conditioner. Perfect spot to charge your phone, if you don’t mind leaving it on the floor next to the window. I wouldn’t want to pay for this place. Location doesn’t make up for a lack of basic functionality. Comfort matters — and this feels more like a museum than a hotel. Oh, and the Wi-Fi? It keeps disappearing. Maybe it’s obstructed by invisible “beems,” or maybe it’s just the hotel’s clever trick to keep guests too busy reconnecting to notice everything else that doesn’t work. Don’t fall for the photos on their web page. No room looks like that! This property is a real mess!

Misleading and Gross Really terrible place. Pictures are of the renovated rooms on the top floors. All the other rooms are old, dirty, and falling apart. There was what looked like black mold in the bathroom, and it smelled like it too. Floor/carpet was just dirty. Half of the lamps in the room did not work. I found ACTUAL COOKED CHICKEN under the garbage can. When you complain to the desk, they can't do anything for you or get you in a renovated room. Disgusting place and once you book it your stuck

The hotel was nice but would never stay there again. Unfortunately I had to give 1 star, which I rarely do. Let's start with the good. The hotel was clean, the room was nice (and clean) and it was a decent size for 2 people. We were on the 21st floor a few doors down from the elevator. It was like the walls of the hotel rooms were made of paper. Every time the elevator came to our floor we heard the ding like we standing in front of it. We could hear the conversations of the people on either side of the room like they were in our room. People woudl walk and talk in the hallway and it was so loud. There were a ton of noises from outside, but that's to be expected when you book in Times Square - not letting this effect the review. The ice machine was not working, I tried to get ice on multiple days. There was no fridge in the room, despite the room being over $500/night (I am not sure if a fridge was listed). The check-in process took a while as there was one person checking people in on a Friday night. Overall, just not a great experience.

Probably the most disgusting hotel I've ever stayed at I mean the pictures due it justice. Old, beaten up, poorly maintained and absolutely cruddy. Location and price are probably the best features. That's about it. I had a woman beg me in the elevator to stay with her until she got to her floor. Me,a random stranger. That's how unnerved she was at the conditions. That on top of a resort fee is ludicrous. Never again. Stay somewhere else.

Beautiful Outer Views & Good Location The Hotel is beautiful from the outside with beautiful city views from the 16th floor. It is very conveniently located near Columbus Circle, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, and Ellen’s Starduster Diner! Great location for walkers. I arrived by a Red Eye flight from the West Coast and Front Desk early check-in was met with ease and compassion by Senka. Despite difficulties with the check-in process and crowds attempting to check out/in, she was committed to assisting me in getting checked in so I may recover and refresh for my conference the following days. My only downside is that the hotel is in need of updated decor, painting, and carpeting which would do wonders for its reputation and star rating.
