Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall

No housekeeping and no coffee or breakfast available. You don’t want to stay here.. Please read this. We are currently here for 5 nights with a group. We have been here 3 nights and the room hasn’t been cleaned nor towels replaced despite our asking to have the room cleaned. The front desk people were nice and directly asked a housekeeping person to clean the room to no avail. There is no restaurant, breakfast or coffee available despite this being listed. There is no Starbucks coffee there. The pool is dirty, really dirty and has no filter pump running. This hotel is Not walking distance to anything as it is in the middle of multiple freeways. The main issue is lack of cleaning.

Don't stay at this hotel!! This hotel is deplorable and I'm not sure where to start. The room we had smelled badly like mold/mildew. The handicap shower didn't work as intended the fixed shower head the water would not get warm/hot. The handicap shower worked but no water pressure and difficult to get hot water at all. The shower curtain was stained and disgusting. The toilet did not like to flush and the sink wouldn't drain. We didn't use the shower as it was just downright gross. We were given 2 sets of towels (wash cloth/hand towel/bath towel) and we had 4 people. We requested more but were told there weren't any more and this was the same for pillows/blankets etc. There was hair all over the bathroom (not ours) and what seemed like candy wrappers in the room as well. There was also hair on the bedding. We had travelled there for a hockey tournament and it seemed that this hotel was not prepared. They had approximately 3 teams sharing this hotel and several guests were given a King room (1 King bed and a chair pullout) and they had a family of 4. This hotel was under resourced in every way imaginable and to complain wouldn't have gotten me anywhere as there weren't any rooms to be had and other guests had the same complaints of the filthy rooms. Not to mention the hallways reeked of weed or mildew/mold/cigarettes. It was uncomfortable walking in the hotel as there were a few hotel guests that were unsavory. There was a homeless gentleman sleeping in the lobby all day. Our children were threatened by another hotel guest who was around 11 years old and he was vaping in the conference room that we rented. He also told our kids that he was going to fight them and when asked to leave the conference room his mom/sister came in upset that he wasn't allowed to join our children. I would like a refund for my hotel stay as I couldn't wait to go home this was a nightmare. I was forced to stay here!

Friendly and clean place to stay In Delaware. Nice , quiet and clean place to stay . Convenient localization close to the shopping mall and restaurants. Modern furnished rooms with comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff specially front desk manager Angelique.

Very Welcoming/Excellent Staff I would just like to take time out to thank the staff that did a tremendous job for my family & I. They were very welcoming upon arrival & throughout the stay. The hotel did a tremendous job in making the event we came to town for worth choosing. From the Sales team ( Tyson Ours) who made it reasonable for the accommodations. He was very professional. Along with his quick response in communicating was awesome. I would like to say, Thank you.. Katie, at the FD was awesome to the family & very accommodating. Even though she was on shift alone, she did her best to make everything right during check in if an issue needed addressing. Kenya & Adrielione was very professional at the FD. They always spoke & always had that smile attached to it, which made it welcoming just to have conversations with them. I don’t know the security/ maintenance guy name but he was all over the place making sure the hotel was presentable. One minute, he’s at the front lobby, next minute he’s in the parking lot picking up trash, from the front to back, side to side. I was like Wow, he does it all. Then next minute, I see him walking the halls to check if all was well on the floors. I mean he was all over the place, so much respect to you, young man. Your work went unnoticed. I liked the rooms, can be updated but overall for the price, it was well worth it. It came with a microwave/ mini fridge. Keurig with coffee/tea. This place even had a smart tv. I was watching YouTube. Lol. I didn’t get a chance at the indoor pool but it was open. They even had a one person laundromat. The place was pretty big. Some family members ate breakfast at the restaurant there & said it was pretty good. So thank you Tonya. Even though Dunkin Donuts is a hop, skip, & jump away from the parking lot they grabbed a bite to eat from here. Overall, Thank you, Sonesta Select employees/ staff. I enjoyed myself and if we’re ever in town again, I hope we’re welcome..

Great for room blocks and special events I created a room block to accommodate guests for a Writers Retreat hosted in the area. I was overjoyed at the service and attentiveness provided by Tyson and the Sonesta staff. The facility is clean, well-maintained and my chosen location for bookings going forward.
