Great hotel and fantastic staff We enjoyed a lovely weekend- nice rooms, warm and very comfortable beds. The hotel has a beautiful view of the Tyne river and the hotel is quiet. The staff are fantastic, and enhanced the experience. Special shout out to Nicola in reception who found out we were doing the stadium tour of St James and text her friend to mind out for us. The food is delicious, one of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had in a hotel. Walking to the city centre is within 10-15 minutes, but it is a steep uphill walk.

Past its best but reasonable hotel Designed as a bit of a flagship early 90s hotel, its now looking dated. But the staff are very professional, the locatiok good and so if you can get a good rate its not a bad stay, despite lacking a bit of the sparkle of some of its more modern competitors.

Great hotel ideally located..... A great hotel we found. There 4 of us staying in 2 rooms. We all enjoyed the location very much. The staff we encountered were all polite and friendly. You could have a bit of banter with them also which is always nice. The rooms were very clean, but as previous comments on here the bathrooms are a bit dated, but totally funcional and serve their purpose. ( I know a refurb would be £1000's and £1000's - just an opinion not a dig at all as they were perfectly ok, just looking a bit sad in places ) The room was very spacious indeed with the fantastic view over the ' Big River ' towards Gateshead and our famous bridges. Facilities in the room were as expected, great and just about right. The breakfasts we found to be lovely and fresh. The 4 of us had a decent feast on each of the mornings and there were no issues at all with the breakfasting team, front of house people being excellent we found. Great at clearing tables, topping up juices etc. Passing the time of day, all were just lovely ( mainly young ) people. A credit to the hotel. Check in and out efficient and friendly.....car park great......quietness of corridors great......location great.......prices great..........all in all great. We'd likely stay here again if staying in Newcastle.

Dull, corporate blandness. And average, corporate hotel. The bath was so shallow as to render it useless. Grey, boring room the was reflected throughout the whole hotel. What looked like a vagrant or refugee sitting in the bar too, complete with what looked like a sleeping bag. Management need to decide if this is a four star hotel or not.
