Visit this hotel and Newcastle for friendliness Our stay was absolutely wonderful. A fantastic room upgraded for my husband's 60th birthday, hotel grade 1 and 2 listed - (come and stay to see for yourself or look at the photos). Just as important for a memorable stay is the standard of service, food, cleanliness and general ambience and location. The staff made us feel very welcome and polite as you would expect in a good class of hotel. However they were genuinely interested and conversational, such as the cleaners in the corridors talking about the history of the building, staff at the front of house and restaurant (Zoe, Anna, Abby,Hope, Jess, Holly and Leon). The only downside was that Bromley FC lost to Newcastle that weekend (12/01/2025) however this was made up for Newcastle beating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Final. The breakfast was excellent. Quality, hot food, constantly replenished. Pleasant ambience without queuing or jostling about to make toast or reach the fantastic display of alternative food on offer. We have stayed in a similar railway hotel at Leeds, which was also extremely good. However, Newcastle Town and its people (including the staff and the local places we have visited) make this our favourite choice and we will return again. Thank you so much for making our stay so special.

Great effort by staff Stay for the cup final. Great experience and effort from all the staff at the hotel for visiting TOON fans. Cannot remember the name of the staff member however very good customer service from the female member of staff and young lad that don the breakfast on 17032025. A credit to the hotel

Great location and lovely people As noted, the hotel itself is worn down and could use a bit of a refresh. The location is very handy, just a quick stroll from the train station. The best part of the hotel, however, is the staff. Liz and Leon in the bar were especially lovely and we really had a pleasant evening there!

UK Visit including Newcastle Upon Tyne. 2025 The welcome we received from the team of people. Especially Michael, Lorraine and Mandy in the restaurant at breakfast and when we had a great dinner at night. Thank you all for your hospitality. The room was amazing, clean and quite large and roomy.
