Great staff Stayed here during the college world series. Our air conditioning didn't work in the room and it was so hot, but when we informed staff they immediately moved us. The outdoor pool was nice. The room itself was old and in need of updating, however it was really nice to have a kitchen since we were staying for 4 days. We did use the stove/oven. The free breakfast was actually pretty good and the staff that ran the breakfast goes above and beyond. Location was a little different, behind businesses. Nearby deli was delicious. Staff at the front desk was very accommodating. Overall, due to the great staff, we would return.

Worse experience ever! Plus, I broke the toilet due to Slippery Tub! This Four Star Rating out of Five Stars is FALSE!!! Read all of the most recent reviews to get an accurate insight to how this Sonesta really rates for 2023-2024!!! Time and lack of care in keeping up the Sonesta ES Suites, Omaha, NE, has destroyed its beauty. Many photos of this Sonesta location on websites like Sonesta.com, hotels.com, tripadvisors.com, expedia.com, priceline.com, trivago, agoda.com, booking.com, kayak.com, Travelocity.com, orbitz.com and others are excellent. However, if you’ve stayed there, you know they aren’t photos from the present day! They are quite evident from the year it first opened as a Sonesta on July 23, 2015!. Sadly, my husband and I believed the ads. We assumed the photos were taken now. They gave us a false impression of what we reserved for the week of March 23 to March 30, 2024. We were welcomed by a friendly staff who checked us in. But the suite we were given, OMG, was awful: • Dog poop was everywhere: right outside our suite, in grass areas, and on sidewalks. • Bottom of the tub was etched with a non-slip bumpy surface that had long since worn off. I had to be very careful not to slip and fall. Their only grab bar was vertical. It was next to the toilet, not the end from which you’d step out. • Only one safety bar in the tubs! It was vertical and next to the tub faucet, the end next to the toilet. This was not the end from which you’d step out. • Inside lower portion of the front door needed paint badly and was covered with mold. • Walls were covered with patched/unpatched holes, stains, marks, and mold. They desperately needed repainting. • Two dangling cupboards had only one hinge each. • Long knife cuts and large holes were in the vinyl on the kitchen floor. • Upholstered loveseat was extremely soiled/stained with worn springs and rips. It should have been replaced years ago. • Two deep cracks go down the entire length of the kitchen tabletop. • Vinyl coffee table/footstool was severely stained, had holes and cuts. • Each bulb in the four-light bulb bathroom fixture had a different shade of white! • Entire carpet was filthy and badly stained with poop and red/purple paint. • Furnace/AC was louder than a hefty rainstorm. • Two large dogs in suite above us could be heard running back/forth all day and night. • Gal responsible for the breakfast, was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was different every morning: meat was good, scrambled eggs tasted like a mixture of water and powdered eggs that melted in your mouth as if they weren’t real eggs, waffle iron was filthy with spoiled-tasting waffles. We were there a week, and it appeared they left the same batter in the waffle iron all week, not refrigerated. We finally complained when the poop from the upstairs guests’ two large dogs was on our front door stoop for the third time. Their constant barking and heavy, continuous walking back and forth, day and night, took a toll on our sleep. The front desk didn’t want to refund our last night so we could go elsewhere. Instead, they told us they’d upgrade us to a suite with a fireplace without charging us the difference. We thought that would work until we saw the room. It was as damaged, stained, and needed work as the first suite. To top that, a sign on the fireplace read it was not to be used. So much for an upgrade at no additional cost! The following morning, I stepped into the tub, but I found it to be as slippery as the first suite’s tub. Not again! Though careful, an ACCIDENT HAPPENED. I SLIPPED while soaping up and tried to grab the poorly placed vertical safety bar, which again was on the side next to the faucet. The bar was so wet and slick I couldn’t grab it and crashed hard into the shower curtain and toilet. The toilet was less than 12 inches from the tub in this room, so my fall broke the toilet/tank into many sharp pieces. Water from the tank quickly flooded the vinyl floor and onto the carpet. I was lucky that their shower curtain prevented me from getting severely cut by the broken toilet pieces. I was in a lot of pain, had stiffness on my left side, and found it hard to move my left arm. We told the office immediately after it happened, and shockingly, all they cared about was the condition of the toilet. No one asked if I got hurt. Ellisa, their manager, looked at me in distaste, and her words/actions inferred the broken toilet and water-damaged floor from the tank water were my fault and my responsibility. They did not give me an Accident Report form to complete. I was so shaken and in pain that I didn’t realize this was a safety issue; therefore, Sonesta’s responsibility, not mine! The front desk gals also told us Mike Cliffe was the Regional Director of Operations & Sales of RestHospitalityGroup.com. My husband was to email him our pics and describe what happened. It took a while for us to hear back from Mr. Cliffe. When we did, he informed us that he had forwarded our email to the owners of this Sonesta location. We have never heard a word since. I called this Sonesta Suite five times after we got home. The front desk gals Rani and Vini assured me that Ellisa would email me the Accident Report Form. She never did. Ironically, the first time I called, Vini answered and expressed that she was so sorry for what had happened to me. I thought she did care about my injuries, after all. But she wasn’t finished with her sentence. She added, “because it’ll give Sonesta a bad review.” That hurt. When we got home, I saw a physician and got X-rays. I was fortunate to have no breaks or fractures, but it took over a month to heal. I am a senior citizen in my 70s. Like other seniors, we’re not as spry as we used to be. This could have been disastrous for me. Other seniors and people of all ages stay at this Sonesta. Their safety worries me—primarily because of the slick tubs and lack of adequately positioned safety bars. Sonesta is a lawsuit ready to happen. Sonesta would be hearing from my lawyer if it weren’t for the shower curtain preventing my getting seriously cut up by the broken toilet/tank shards. I read a previous review on trirpadvisors.com from 09/11/2023 that helps explain the terrible condition of our guest room. They wrote: “It appears that many Sonesta franchisees buy hotels that need investment and “update” them, with varying degrees of success and investment. Sonesta apparently does not hold them to any standard and will not help customers with any issues, referring customers to local owners. There are complaints with BBB, which Sonesta denies responsibility.” (Tripadvisors.com Review, Avoid franchisee-owned Sonesta properties, esp. this one! 09/11/2023) There are one-star reviews that date back to even 2011. Seriously! I also read that the guestrooms in this franchise Sonesta are privately owned. That is why some rooms may be exceptionally clean while others are a nightmare. The grounds need a lot of landscaping work, cleaning, and painting. It’s dog poop central. This affects everyone. The exercise equipment room is connected to the main office. However, its two doors were locked. My husband and I would NOT recommend anyone stay at this Sonesta ES Suites, even though it is close to many well-known locations. But if you do, I hope you get one of the better ones. DON’T STAY HERE! The pictures make it look amazing, but they were taken long ago! It’s in disarray!

THEY WILL ROB YOU! I previously wrote a fairly positive review about this hotel, but I am amending that review... DO NOT STAY HERE! They required a $100 cleaning deposit the night we checked in. WE HAVE NEVER RECOVERED THAT DEPOSIT. I have called the hotel and demanded that they return that money, but they never have. I will work with the Better Business Bureau, but don't expect to get any help. This hotel intentionally steals from it's customers.

Has much potential This is really a pretty nice place, especially for the price. The sad thing is, with just a little maintenance and tidying up, this could be 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, it's not filthy, and, I'm not as finicky as some, but just a little more effort could make this a really nice place. For the price, I may return.

Wouldn’t even stay here for free This was the dirtiest, worst kept up with hotel I have ever seen. The door had clearly been broken into recently and instead of replacing it they just screwed the pieces back on and called it good. It looked so tacky and felt so unsafe. You couldn’t even lock the top latch because it was pulling out of the wall. The doors, walls, and vents were so dirty and rusty. The curtains were torn and the paint is chipping off the doors and walls. When we checked out to get a different hotel they acted like they didn’t know about the door, didn’t offer another room, and refused to refund. We will never be staying at a Sonesta again.
