Disappointing I stayed at the Lotus about 10 years ago. At the time it was relatively new, so the rooms were well-appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. Not so anymore. I just returned from 5 days in a “garden view” kitchenette room, if by garden view you mean the car bumper 4 feet from my window, and by kitchenette you mean 2 burners and a bar sink. There is a sign in the empty cabinet that says dishware available upon request; when requested I received 3 plates, 3 mismatched teaspoons, and one small pan. No glassware, no knives or forks, no cooking utensils, no dish towels or dishcloths. The beds, linens, and furniture appear to predate my last visit. There was a dehumidifier in the room, which makes sense given the beach location, but no one explained what to do with it, and it alarmed at about 4 am when it was full. Housekeeping never emptied it during my entire stay; they didn’t do much else in the room, either, which is expected when they don’t even have a full-sized cart for their supplies. The worst part, I slipped and fell coming back from the beach, bruising knees, feet and ankles, because the ceramic tile they use on all the outside walkways isn’t suitable for wet areas. When I told the staff, the only response I got was, “what room are you in?” No one ever checked to see how I was doing, or if I needed any assistance. I could go on, but I think you have the idea.

Poor customer service/ Deceiving room I booked a king jacuzzi room. After that mixup was rectified, come to find out my jacuzzi in my room didn't even work. Not to mention the outside jacuzzi either. When I brought this to the attention to the front desk the only thing they could tell me was that someone could help me in the morning. All I wanted was the $180 that I paid for the jacuzzi room extra to be refunded but was told I had to wait till the morning for someone to come and possibly fix it. At this point I don't want it fixed I just want refunded. Said they couldn't help me. I'm so disappointed at the customer service here. I could have booked anywhere else for over $300 a night but instead I got a mediocre room. The view was great but I could have gotten that anywhere

Would not stay here again We stayed here with our dog in a beachfront room over Memorial Day weekend since this inn was on dog section of beach. Do not recommend bringing your dog as you have to take them across the street for potty. Street does get busy. Parking is horrible. If no parking at inn you have to park across the street as well. We had to park across the street as none available at inn parking after first day there Room had no water pressure for sink and shower, toilet was unstable and wobbly, coffee machine in room did not work, beds uncomfortable, pillows for king size bed and queen size bed small and hard and lumpy, pillow size was half of regular size pillow , bed sheets scratchy and towels small and thin. Thought this inn was renovated but rooms did not appear to be renovated. Looks like pool area was renovated. Pool supposedly closed at dusk but loud music and partying on pool deck until 1 am or later. Understand was holiday weekend but noone courteous of others staying here. For money paid very disappointed.

Terrible hotel would NEVER go back or recommend anyone else stay there! I have travelled extensively, all over the world, and this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. In the first room they put us in, the deadbolt didn't work and the mini fridge door wouldn't seal because there was so much ice built up in the freezer section that the freezer door wouldn't close, which didn't allow the main door to close properly. That room had a shared balcony and we asked to be moved to a room with a private balcony, which they did with no upgrade charge, but other than having a second bed which we didn't need and a kitchenette area, it really wasn't an upgrade. The overhead light didn't work, the front door rattled when the back slider was open, the seat on the rolling chair was worn off, there was a hole in the bench at the end of the bed, a piece of the veneer missing from the bed frame, the base of the table on the left side of the king bed was chipped and there was a piece of foam that was supposed to seal the slider door hanging off the frame. The lamp by the double bed didn't work, the phone didn't work and there were no instructions about how to call the front desk, the shower had a rain shower head with not enough pressure and there was no cable remote so no guide channel, making it impossible to see what was on TV. The bathroom sink was outside the bathroom, there was barely any water pressure, barely any change in temperature no matter what we did and there was not enough counter space. We stayed two nights and the morning after the first night I left a $2 tip for the maid. When we came back at the end of the day the money was gone, but all that had been done was the waste bin in the bathroom had been emptied and there were a few new towels. The bed wasn't made, the empty tissue box that we left outside the door wasn't replaced, there was a coffee maker, with some packets of stirrers, creamer and sugar, but we didn't get new ones after we used the ones that were there, the trash bin in the kitchenette was not emptied, the bath mat was removed and not replaced, one hand towel was taken away and washcloths were left next to the sink outside the bathroom. And if all that wasn't enough... we requested a late checkout for 11 and had brought our big suitcases down to the car right around 11 and were planning to go back up for the rest of our stuff before checking out. We were gone less than 5 minutes and when I got back up to the room there were two people in the room, a man and a woman and I discovered that they had started going through our stuff! They said they thought we had checked out and left the items there, but they must have gone in there no more than 2 or 3 minutes after we walked out of the room and we hadn't officially checked out yet. If someone has JUST left a room, and not even officially checked out yet, and there is still stuff in there, I would think someone going in would say oh, maybe they're coming back for the rest, I'll give them 5 or 10 minutes and then if they don't come back, dispose of what was left. I was furious, but when we reported it to the man at the front desk when we went to check out, he made excuses and said oh, maybe they thought you had left already, people often leave stuff behind in the rooms. I'm sorry, but, especially seeing how upset I was, he should have apologized and tried to make things right, rather than making excuses for the staff. He did ask if anything was missing, and they hadn't gotten that far when I got upstairs so I said no, but they need to train their staff better if that's what was going on, not to go into a room 2 minutes after someone has left it, with stuff still in it!! The whole experience was horrible and I wouldn't recommend that ANYONE stay there, EVER!!
