Bettter than I expected I can’t believe I haven’t stayed here before for staycation purposes when we need to (or want to) stay in a hotel. Not only is the location convenient to Oro Valley / North Tucson, but the experience was really great. The room was spacious and clean, check in and check out were fast, smooth, and pleasant (excellent front desk staff, I liked that), the view was even really good (of the mountains). The bed was comfortable, bathroom had almost everything you need (in my particular case, no soap by the sink, though), plenty of room for clothes and luggage, and I could even use my Roku stick (SO many high end hotels work incredibly hard to PREVENT you from using your own streaming device). Great value for the price. Will definitely return.

Status means nothing here with the rude staff Holiday Inn is my go to hotel. I've enjoyed multiple levels of status with the group all the way up to Diamond. I went to check in there and the person at the front desk was totally rude. He seemed to have an attitude that since I was using points for my stay that I was not worthy of his time. Its a shame because I've tried to book space there many times and it is so often full. I had to go down to Tucson Mall HE and was treated like royalty by them. They were so helpful. Well, from now on I'll just add a little driving to my stay!

All About Location and Value Our go to lodging when vacation in Tucson area, All about location: near dozens of restaurants, retail shopping, grocery, etc, and a few minutes from fabulous Catalina Mountains State Park. Our suite was spacious but showing age (furniture, bathrooms, etc.). Still a good value. Service is excellent (front desk, housekeeping and Jesse who handles the breakfast area - an often thankless job - with patience and personality.

Not as good as usual On the face if it, this appeared to be a typical Holiday Inn Express, but for the room I was given, there were enough details either missing or not functioning properly that ultimately I was disappointed with my stay. I was able to get a requested ground floor room close to the entrance. However, when I checked in (late Saturday night), there were no luggage carts to be seen, so I had to make half a dozen trips to and from my vehicle and room to unload everything. The door handle to the room was slightly loose/damaged. It worked but not a good introduction. I had a lot of electronics to charge, so it was disappointing that there were no USB ports in the room, and annoying that NONE of the electrical outlets on any of the fixtures around the room worked due to being worn out. I was able to plug into wall outlets, but that was definitely less convenient. The mini-fridge was small, and had no freezer compartment, something I value. There were also stains in the carpet; not huge, but in very conspicuous places. Although I did not use it, I noted the water dispenser in the fitness room was out of service. The ice machine was working; I cannot say if there was one in each floor. The good? The room was otherwise what I expect from a HIE; clean, quiet, comfortable bed, good water pressure, good included hot breakfast.

Many Pluses - Excellent Value But a Few Improvements Needed This is our third time at this property and its location is outstanding. It's within a mile from Catalina State Park and within reach of so many eateries of every type and cost as well as every type of commercial and retail business. The front desk staff - Jada and Emily - were so pleasant, accommodating and personable. Juan in Housekeeping was the same. Although some aspects of this property are beginning to show wear and tear, I'm thinking Covid hurt a lot of hospitality businesses in terms of renovation. For example, both ice machines were out of order. The dryer was out of order. One day, there were no individual milks at breakfast but just a shared gallon of 2 percent. We had a bath towel with a big hole in it and our bathroom is showing a good deal of wear. All this aside, this property is a an incredible value and we will return. Our suite was clean and comfortable with a great view of the Catalina Mountains. The breakfast choices are satisfactory and free. Nice workout room.
