Hilton Garden Inn Overland Park

Hilton hotels are not what they used to be First iff everyone we encountered was very nice and friendly. The hotel though is in serious need of renovation. The carpet in the both our room and hallway was stained and torn. Furniture had either stains or rips. We used the pool area snd it was decent. We did not use any of the dining services. We travel to KC at the minimum once a month and we just haven’t found a place we love to stay thats a Hilton property. I think we’ll stick with Marriott from now on.

Won't be returning. Not up to Hilton Garden Inn standards. - 4th floor carpet in hallway had more stains, rips, and wrinkles than it had clean space - pile of trash in hallway for 24 hours - room door did not deadbolt - drapes were torn from rod - furniture did not match - mattresses did not fit frames - bathroom door broken (All which makes a person wonder what else, such as cleaning, is sub par.)

Great room. Some breakfast issues. We arrived late at night and had checked in on-line. The gentleman at the desk where we got extra door cards was efficient but not friendly. I had to ask for Diamond member water. Lobby very nuce. The room was great. Easy to control the air, nice refrigerator and the beds very comfortable. Shower had good flow with plenty of hot water. Breakfast we were the only ones there at 9am. Had to ask for fresh hot food (the eggs and hash browns did not look edible) and the desk clerk had to find hot water/tea bags with china cups. We ended up using the expresso machine to get the hot water. If I had not called when I made the reservation and asked about breakfast I would not have known we could I order an omlette as part of breakfast. The cook was very nice but spoke little to no english except words related to food. The dining room attendant apparently was a no show so the cook was trying to do everything. No juice was out but when I asked he brought two big glasses of OJ. Bless him for trying to do double duty. The desk clerk had to ask about placing breakfast on our bill. He was able to give us the Diamond food credit after we asked. Apparently a computer glitch. We would stay here again perhaps on our way back west.

A Good Short Stay I was diverted to this nice Hilton property after another Hilton at Lawrence caused issues with my Diamond membership. The reception staff here are pleasant, helpful and on the mark. My room was what I would expect from and HGI and breakfast was adequate( though menu options would have been nicer). It has a very convenient location to I 435 and the business sectors at Overland Park. I would say it is perhaps time for some decor updates but all was clean and maintained.

House keepers are THEIFS and management protects them! I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Overland Park Kansas for a work trip on March 7th-9th 2024 and when checking in to the hotel they had asked me if I wanted house keeping services during my stay. I stated no thank you, as I had done my research ahead of the trip and found that they did not provide safes in their rooms. Well the very next day after a long day working at the trade show, I come back to my room and notice my bed was made and things had been tidied up. So I instantly went to check to ensure all my belongings were still there and I discovered my ($368) cash was no where to be found. After ransacking all my belongings and also my car I wasn't able to find my money. So I went down to the front desk and told the lady that my money from my room was missing and why they did maid service when I specifically told them no. She then called her general manager which never picked up the phone but sent a message back saying that the maid that had cleaned my room had worked for them for several years and that they had never had anything like this happen so that he would investigate and get back to me. That was the only money I had to make out back home to where I live 2 states away, so I no choice but to drive and deliver Uber eats until 2am just to ensure I was able to have enough money to make it back home. I was exhausted the entire next day because of this. I've sense left countless calls which ended up being voicemails and NEVER heard back! I am disgusted by the sheer unprofessionalism of this business and I want my money back! I sense then have called Hilton customer support to file a claim and the nice lady said that I would hear back on how they plan to respond in 48hrs-72hrs. Well it's now been 12 days and still no word. So, do I recommend this hotel? No. Stay ANYWHERE ELSE OR TAKE ANYTHING YOU DONT WANT STOLEN FROM YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE.
