Convenient for a short stay in Oxford Hotel is well placed to enjoy Oxford. Easy walking to most sights. Room was fine, and good value, not big (we had a Classic room) but everything we needed. Decent shower and towels. Free toiletries. The breakfast lets them down. The range is very good but the quality is not monitored so you find rock hard hash browns, rubbery fried eggs etc. Staff, particularly at reception, extremely friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing, too expensive for the quality of food they serve, not worth the money We previously stayed here February 2024 and loved it, so we booked to come back, but we found it had changed. The breakfast was very poor quality food. The hospitality tray had 2 Biscoff biscuits, the sort you would normally have in a cafe, there was only 1 tea bag we had to ask for another one and the hair conditioner had run out. They will look after your luggage but it just piled up in reception, not put away.

Usual overnight stay Usual great overnight stay ahead of hospital appointments. I really like this hotel. Great location. Nice staff. Good rooms and amenities.

Great location but some other concerns We struggled to get to the hotel car park given Oxford's labyrinthine road network and restrictions and ended up parking 5 minutes away in a public car park - easy enough. This is simply a result of the hotel having a great, central location - very close to the Botanic Gardens and the centre of town. Our stay was a bit of a mixed bag though. The public rooms are quite smart and while the rooms are ok; they are pretty dark with small windows that barely open. The fact the windows don't open is the real issue though - with no aircon the rooms get really hot. There appears to be the plumbing for aircon but for whatever reason it is not working. We had breakfast in the hotel both days and it was pretty average - reasonable spread of cold items, cereals and some fruit but the hot buffet was pretty unappetising. The staff in the dining room at breakfast were also very poor - disinterested and not particularly helpful. By way of contrast the lady on the front desk was great as was the gentleman in the bar. Would we stay again? Possibly but we would not have breakfast in the hotel (plenty of options in cafes etc nearby) and would be careful about staying here in the height of Summer given the aircon issues.
