Pacific Grove Inn

Made me pay up front, and then filed for BK and shut down?!?!? If I could give this place negative stars I would. I booked a family suite on June 16th, and was told that I would need to pay for the room up front vs putting a hold on my card. We had such a difficult time finding a hotel that could accomodate our family of 5 that I was more than willing to pay up front for the peace of mind that we would all have a place to lay our heads during our Monterey mini-vacation. Fast forward 30 days...On July 16th they sent an email stating that they had filed bankruptcy and had shut down. They obviouly knew 30 days ago that they were going to file bankruptcy, but insisted that I pay them up front anyway. Now we are out $366.00, and we don't have a hotel to accomodate us (our trip is tomorrow). I feel robbed, taken advantage of, and duped. Shame, shame, shame on Pacific Grove Inn.

Canceled our room 3 days before arrival Canceled our reservation 3 days before our arrival and no other rooms are available in the immediate cities for less than about $500 a night. Terrible management. Stay away if you actually want to have a room when you arrive.

Closed this week, July 13 We had reservations for July 15 and July 16. My daughter and I had stayed at Pacific Grove Inn in summer of 1991. Really was a lovely stay, so when my husband and I planned an anniversary trip I wanted to stayed there again. We received a call from Seth just before we left on July 13, good thing we had not left yet. He said they had to cancel our reservation, that due to litigation they had to close for the week. He was very apologetic, and gave a couple of suggestions for alternate accommodations. I am giving this a three, not because this was an average experience, but because we did not get to stay at the Inn. But, I would most certainly try again the next time we are in the area and if they have reopened.

Lovely antique feel We stayed here last year, and enjoyed our stay. Decorated in art deco traditional English style, its a great place to spend a weekend. The ocean is nearby. Parking facility is helpful. The restaurant served us well. The rooms were very comfortable, and we would like to come back again

Victorian delight We stayed here for a night last year, and enjoyed our stay. We had earlier stayed in another place in same area, and this place is far better. Nice quaint place with lot of character. Decorated in Victorian style, the Inn is a good place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed the facilities and hospitality of Pacific Grove Inn thoroughly.
