Location & staff great, room smells There are several pluses: Convenient location for driving to SLO or wineries or Sensorio. The staff at the desk were great and the area feels safe and well kept. The room is a bit of a cross between a residence inn and garden suites- there’s a large mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and wet-bar sink. Nice sized bathroom with plenty of counter space. The cons are very straightforward: the room smelled like hotel room freshener when we came in, and I caught the hint of wet dog, which my wife thought was maybe vape-pen covered up by air freshener. We left for the afternoon and came back to smell strong wet-dog odor. I would suggest to management to make one floor pet-friendly and the rest pet-free. Pet odor isn’t the end of the world, especially if you travel with a pet, but it is bad enough that I can guarantee we won’t be back despite the location and great staff. If you have pet allergies or can’t cope with pet smells I would avoid this as a 1-star location.

Great bed but no hot water Hotel is convenient to the 101 but pretty far for walking to downtown. Bed was great. First room assigned was directly over KFC take-out window. We were moved to a room with a view over the hotel parking lot and railroad tracks. Room and view were good but hot didn’t work. They offered points to compensate for lack of hot water, but after 10 days points haven’t yet been credited,

Warm, welcoming and comfortable For a mid-range hotel in a smallish town known mostly for its wineries, I was pleasantly surprised. I traveled here for work, and stayed 3 nights. I had a double-queen room to myself in the main building. The hotel is spotless and welcoming, and clearly has been updated in the last few years. I didn't get to use the outdoor patio, but it was very inviting looking. The lobby and breakfast area were extremely clean and there's a fountain/bottle filler for your fresh drinking water needs just off to the side. All of the staff I encountered were warm and friendly. My room was also spotless and included a decent size bathroom, a kinda-kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave and Keurig, a desk, and a chaise lounge chair/reading nook in the corner. There are plenty of lights and outlets for charging things. Lots of pillows and very comfortable bedding and mattresses. My one small design peeve: the bathroom door blocks the shower/tub when open, you pretty much HAVE to close it to get in, but there's not much anyone can do about that. Water pressure is maybe a little too good, would have been nice to be able to adjust the showerhead. Plenty of hooks and racks and towels were refreshed daily. I did not use the pool or fitness center, so I can't comment on those, but they are available. The breakfast selection is really good, honestly - fruit, pancakes, a wide variety of baked goods, hot items like omelets, sausage and bacon, yogurt, cereal, juices. It didn't vary much the three mornings I ate there, but it was tasty. Coffee is good too. In the evening (at least during the week) there's a manager's reception with snacks (popcorn, snack mix etc) and usually 2 wines and 2 beers to choose from. Nice little perk. The location is not really walkable to anything besides KFC next door, but it's convenient to the highway and downtown Paso Robles, which is a cute area. Parking is plentiful though a little oddly laid out. I don't know if or when I'll be back in Paso, but if the time comes, I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic!! One of the best hotel stays we have ever had. Great location, spacious and very clean rooms, fantastic breakfast every morning. But what made our stay extra special is the young lady, Kalina, at the front desk, who made us feel like family. Great smile, wonderful attitude, and attentive to any of our needs. Hotels need more Kalinas in my opinion!!
