Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Pearland by IHG

What A Change! We have stayed in this hotel before and had an excellent experience. This time was totally different. We had a room on the 4th floor. Exiting the elevator there was a musty smell in the air. The carpet was horribly dirty. Our room did not have the AC on when we arrived and now I know why. It did not work properly. We tried to turn it on and it would not come on. When to the front desk and told the staff person the room would not work for us because the AC did not turn on. He told me to turn it on at the wall instead of the unit. Went back up and tried the wall thermostat. It did not even light up. My husband went down and the front desk staff came back with him and tried the unit. It would not turn on. He pushed on the wall plug and it finally came on. Was told that the cleaning people have a tendency to pull the cord out. The unit ran for awhile and went out. My husband messed with the unit and cord and after about 15 minutes got it to come back on. Good thing we were checking out at 3:30 am because throughout the night we had to keep doing this. When you stepped out of the shower it felt as if you were going to fall through the floor. I'm assuming the floor was repaired poorly. The beds were comfortable. Would I stay here again? NEVER!!! We mentioned our problems when we checked out but all we received was, "I'll write a maintenance request." No apology, didn't seem to care at all.

Horrible horrible experience Came in for a few nights for a festival. This hotel was a bad experience. Door was left propped open by the cleaning staff for hours! Merchandise was in the room and had to be recounted to ensure nothing was taken. Toilet paper was not restocked so I had to go all the way to the front desk to get more toilet paper. There were a few of these tiny roaches that came out at night!!!! The remote was filthy! My wife said it was in a little bag marked as clean, this thing looks like it hasn’t been clean in years!

Quality This hotel is absolutely amazing, for the price you may expect less, but this hotel goes above and beyond. Since the moment you entered, Thomas in the front desk was absolutely kind and informative at our arrival. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the coffee is delicious, the bed were really comfortable and my kids enjoyed the pool so much. The complementary breakfast is a big plus. I have 0 negative comments about our stay.

Nice hotel but noisy This was a nice hotel. The rooms and lobby, breakfast area were very clean. The problem was the different noises. We were on the 2nd floor. The floor creaked and was pretty loud and we also heard every movement of the guests above. Also, very odd was hearing water run through the walls from the showers above us. I’ve stayed in a lot of rooms and have never experienced that. If I stay again, I will ask for the top floor. Breakfast was good.

Terrible hotel This location is horrible. There is a loud outdoor bar right outside the window, which makes it impossible to sleep. It’s so loud it sounded like the DJ was set up on the corner of our room!! I have young kids, and we needed to be up early for my son’s swim meet. Plus, the non smoking room we were on reeked of smoke. I won’t be choosing this hotel again.
