Undergoing renovation, staff friendly, rooms clean Visited in July with the front lobby undergoing reservation which obviously degrades the experience. Staff was friendly and provided a new room as a water fixture broke in the room. Breakfast ok, run-of-the-mill 3-star US standard with single use plates/cutlery and un-inspired +bagels. Pros: Cleaning standard pretty good Location good very close to downtown Peoria Rooms relatively quiet and no traffic noise Hassle free parking Rooms fairly big with decent quality bathrooms Cons: No front lobby Breakfast served in small room requiring guests to dine in their own rooms

PSA…. RUN FROM HERE DO NOT STAY The whole stay was terrible. Joanie who was there from IHG was a very condescending individual. The room was not clean…. Bed sheets were dirty, dirty dishes in the cabinets, towel rack fell apart as soon as we took the towels off. They have renovated but terrible service. The host/manager did not know the difference between a wash cloth and a bath mat! Then there was the addition unexplained hold to our card.

Not so hot. For a place that has been bragging about renovations they are failing in so many ways. There were burnt out lights, a shower that dripped all night and a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was superficiality cleaned but the toilet and the bathroom floor were filthy in areas that weren't glaringly obvious. The Staybridge reception was a joke. The soda machines were turned off so the few people there had to buy soft drinks from the pantry. The only offering was chilly and store bough bakery cookies. No one stayed so it wasn't a social hour. The breakfast, which is normally a very good reason to choose Staybridge, was pathetic. We went somewhere else and paid for breakfast. They didn't even have cream for the coffee. If they expect us to stay here again, they are going to have to clean up their act.

Don't Stay Here We stayed in July and half our team checked out immediately or within 24-hours as most rooms and common areas of the building had no air conditioning. This is a big issue when it’s 100+ degrees each day. Being that I was in the hotel business for 25 years I wanted to give them the opportunity as our room’s A/C did work. First problem was that our refrigerator did not work. It ruined our food the first night and every day I complained that the refrigerator was still not working. It was never looked at. I reached out multiple times while there and after departing. Was always told “it will be fixed today and a manager will contact you”, and “a manager will call you back”, and “the manager is not here now, call back tomorrow.” I was always told to talk to a manager, how aggravating. Two days after departing I did finally reach someone who identified herself as the operations manager (Mary Beth), but said she had to talk to the GM before issuing any credit. I never could reach her again. I had also informed them that the bathtub was backing up while showering. The water level was above foot level. The hotel said this would be taken care of as well, it was not. These problems were always told directly to the front desk as we could not call because the phone in the room was not working. After being outside in 100° plus weather each day, I expected to come back to a clean room and fresh towels. Each night I had to go down to the desk and beg for them to try to find some clean towels since the room had not been serviced. They did say that rooms are cleaned every day! I did take this up with my credit card company, and the hotel’s response to them was that the room was occupied every day so therefore I am due no credit whatsoever. Funny, the hotel has no clue if I really stayed as my room was never serviced, not on one single day. I waited to write this review as I filed a complaint through the Better Business Bureau. The BBB just got back to me saying that the hotel has refused to respond to them. I wanted to be fair and give the hotel an opportunity to make things right before posting but they obviously don’t care. Like I said above, I have been in the hotel industry over 25 years and cannot recommend a hotel that has such a negative attitude towards guest. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel, even in a worst-case scenario to anyone. P.S. - I hope I don’t get the ceremonial line of, “We will share your comments with hotel management” because hotel management has clearly chosen to ignore my concerns and the concerns of others.

Stay in your car. Stay in your car. Website says “newly remodeled”. Nope. It’s dark and dirty. Scuffed walls everywhere. Hallways were sorely in need of a vacuum. And, I don’t want to know what that is on the wall by the toilet… The location is good but the rest of this place isn’t worth it.
