Perfect Location I have been here a few times now and love this hidden gem. It’s so convenient for visiting the area. We get breakfast in Bay Harbor and then lunch/dinner in Petoskey and Harbor springs. I will say the second floor units have a better view of the bay and incredible sunsets. I stayed in the winter to ski as well at Boyne and Nubs so I liked the new hot tubs they added. Just so close to everything in the area!

Just Don’t So disappointed in the complete lack of customer service. I booked the cabin for four nights for a yearly mother/son trip. On our first night, I went to open the sofa bed and found a note stating not to open it. Thinking such a request was strange given we required the use of it and was the reason we booked the room we did. We attempted to see if we could “make it work” and found the frame completely destroyed. I texted the number we were given to notify them of the situation and received nothing other than a request for our room number and last name. End of communication. I reached out the next day to see what they were doing regarding a possible fix for the situation. Was told that they weren’t having any luck finding a sofa bed. No apologies, zero attempt at offering any possible solutions/alternatives. Even if all their rooms were booked, there was no indication that they cared enough to look into it. We would’ve moved hotels had there been anything around with availability. In the end, I shared a queen bed with my 6 foot tall son because I wasn’t going to lose the opportunity to spend quality time with him.

Good sized clean room We were on the second floor ( no elevator). We unpacked and tried to take a shower but the water pressure was not just low, it dribbled. I found the housekeeper who was still on premises. She tried but didn’t know how to work the shower and suggested we call the number on the window. There is no management on site. I spoke to an agent who called us back in about 15 minutes and she asked us to change rooms. That was a bit of a pain but the rest of the stay was uneventful. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable. Small mini fridge in the room. The website warns of traffic noise but it really wasn’t too bad.

Unfortunate Experience Stayed in Room 1 on 2/18/24. I would have l left a very positive review, but unfortuantely cannot do so. 48 hours after checking out, I found that my torso was COVERED in BED BUG BITES. I immediately notified Bay Inn by email, but rececived no response. Calling one week later, I was told by an answering service representative (non-native English speaker) that I would have to provide documentation - either pictures of the bedbugs (obviously not possibe as bites never show immediately) or of my body (would involve sending naked body images, so obviously refused that). There is no actual person to talk to about this on site, so no idea if action will have been taken or not. BEWARE! Note: the rooms on this property have been completely updated from the images shown on Tripadvisor and are lovely. The bed bug issue must be resolved as well as the customer service situation. Cloudy hot tub water not a plus either.

Bought out and sold out They painted, added some frilly stuff, and tripled the price since last year. Don't bother. It used to be a nice mom'n'pop, but they sold it to some profiteers. No idea why they think these little crackerboxes should go for $250/night
