Really great rooms When I walked into my "room" I thought I had been given the wrong key at first because it wasn't so much a room as an apartment (I was on a tour so hadn't chosen the hotel myself but perhaps the word "suites" is a clue!). The rooms really were great, comfortable and clean, with lots of plugs. Two great big televisions in different rooms. The only slight problem was the shower leaked and left the bathroom floor rather wet but otherwise the rooms were great. The best thing were the views from the windows, brilliant. I loved standing and soaking up the atmosphere of the city. The hotel is really well situated for many places of interest and I did a lot of walking while I was there. There are several good places to eat nearby. Breakfast at the hotel was good and the coffee was lovely. I found the lifts a bit intimidating as there is a central keypad, you get allocated the next lift going to your floor and no option to control from inside the lift. However it seemed to be efficient and work well. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Philadelphia.

Out of business We stay at the Embassy Suites in Center City at Thanksgiving since it's in a great location to watch the parade.. We saw on the news that this year's parade has been cancelled due to COVID so we called the cancel our reservation. Nobody answers the phone and you get a recording that they have been "temporarily closed" since July. We prepaid a 50% deposit for our room so I called Hilton. They refused to refund us and told us we had to get our refund from the hotel who doesn't answer the phone. i was able to get a refund by disputing the charge with my credit card. You might want to do the same if you have reservations there

Very disappointed I had a reservation at the Embassy this week, only to hear from a friend that they were closed. I received no notification at all from them! I called Hilton directly and they couldn't even tell me what was going on except that they showed no availability. Luckily, I was able to get a room elsewhere, but at a price this is double $$ what I had booked at the Embassy, since it was a last minute reservation. What if we had arrived and found the hotel closed? Very disappointed in the Hilton for not communicating this. This could have been a total disaster.

Taking Advantage of Travelers I understand that COVID-19 is happening so I actually appreciate that the hotel is not doing housekeeping at this time. And I understand why there's no hot breakfast. However, the substitute for hot breakfast - a prepackaged muffin, granola bar, overripe apple, and bottled water was pretty sad. But what makes it bad is that this hotel's rates - almost $200 a night for no service whatsoever - is clearly gouging customers. The only staffperson I saw the entire time here was the front desk person so it's not as though they need to charge these rates to keep their workers employed. This hotel is taking advantage of the fact that perhaps other hotels in the area are still shuttered from the pandemic. Finally, the hotel has locked off its balconies for "safety reasons" and since guests now can't get outside, the interior of the room is pretty dark and dreary.

Disregard for guest safety An incident marred my entire stay and prompted me to transfer to another Hilton location. As a registered nurse and first responder, I am concerned for the disregard of a male front desk staff for violations in mask wearing and social gatherings of over four people in common areas of the hotel. On Saturday night May 16th, I witnessed six unmasked individuals sitting beside the elevators in the lobby. I knew a birthday was being celebrated because there was a cake. It is none of my business how people choose to conduct themselves in their room however all the other guests could not avoid these individuals when entering and exiting the hotel. Not only were these people endangering others during the pandemic, but they were loud and disruptive. The negligence of that front desk staff member negatively impacted my brief stay Other than that, I want to highlight positives of the hotel The front desk professional Regina was courteous and helpful. The room was spacious and had decent amenities.
