Holiday Inn Express Picayune-Stennis Space Center by IHG

Nice staff- issues with rooms Just got back from a 4 night stay here. The 4 stars are for the staff as they were very friendly. Some of our issues were out of their control so I cannot blame them. The room deserves 3 stars or less. Front desk and check in were smooth. We were staying here in a wedding block of rooms so I am not sure how many they had. They sent us to room 318 first and immediately upon stepping in we knew something was up. Took a minute to figure out that the smoke detector was chirping every 10 seconds or so. Maintenance has gone for the day. Well that just ain't gonna cut it cause I already have trouble sleeping. Back to the front desk and she asks if I mind being behind the elevator as it is the only unoccupied room in the block. 122. We take it. The room is clean but has a odor we cannot seem to figure out. I happen to walk by the microwave and something catches my eye. Open it up and WTF... a left over half eaten chicken dinner is inside. Throw it out and open windows. They also have a very modern lamp sitting on the desk but we cannot get it to turn on. I look underneath and WTF... it is unplugged because there is no outlet anywhere to plug it into. And the elevator outside our room wasn't even close to being the issue. It was a quiet elevator. The issue was the ice machine that backed up to one of our walls and WTF...it had a drain pump that cycled on and off all night long and vibrated the wall. Just move it to the adjacent wall so it doesn't disturb anyone. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was ok but could have used some fresh fruit choices. Did not use any other facilities. I know all hotel stays are hit or miss but I think I would try someplace else if possible. Not sure what the other choices may be but look into them. P.S.- We found out 1 day after our check in that they put someone else in our group in room 318. Chirping still going on.

NO ANSWER!!!!!!!! They will not answer the front desk phone to make reservations. I called multiple times throughout the week and not a single answer. So, the number that is attached to this hotel to call the front desk for inquiries do not even bother because they will not answer a single phone call.

Pretty fair Had no reservation so lucky you had room. The desk clerk was new at the job but super nice and worked hard to get us taken care of. The room didn’t provide a really clean feeling. There was no toilet paper in the bathroom and a rag was on the bathroom floor. Otherwise it was fine

Special Treatment! Great Staff who treated our Diamond Elite status extra special. Had a Diamond logo on our room door! We Love Holiday Inn Express but the Staff at Picayune were Extra Special, the Front Desk and Breakfast managers were Great!

The right choice I haven't traveled much since retirement and had never been to this area. Read the reviews of all locations in the area and Holiday Inn Exp had the highest so I opted to make the reservations. A little more expensive than the others but worth it to me. Rooms were nice, clean and beds comfortable. The staff was great, friendly and very helpful. I would recommend anyone visiting this area to stay at this location
