In the hood.... There are many issues with this hotel. I arrived at about 1:30 in the morning and the area the hotel is located in is not very appealing at night. Even during the day, it doesn't seem like a place tourist would want to stay in. It is just across the bridge from downtown, but that short distance makes a big difference. When I arrived, the outside area in front of the hotel was not clean. There was trash that looked like it had been blown up and someone had vomited in the driveway. When I walked up to the front door of the hotel, it was locked, which I thought was strange. There were many things that did not work in the hotel. The 3rd floor button on one of the elevators did not work during my entire stay and on one day, the internet was out for the entire hotel. The hallways were loud at night and the area set up as the business center does not have a functioning computer or printer. They have them there, but they are not plugged up. On the bright side, I will say that my actual room was decent. However, the hotel itself and the location were big turnoffs. I would not stay again.

No Housekeeping, don't stay here I requested a room near the elevator. I got a room at the end of the hall. The "new" IHG policy is they only offer housekeeping services after 3 overnights. This is not stated anywhere on their website. I found out after I checked in and paid. This hotel has a gated and fully fenced in parking lot, which is only accessible by using your hotel room key. The problem is that the hotel charges $22 a day for parking. There is no other safe/secure parking option nearby.

Out of Date, but Being Upgraded I was pretty scared by a lot of these reviews stating the property was in disrepair and the rooms were falling apart. After my recent stay I can say the hotel is currently in mid-renovation and I experienced some pros and cons, but hopefully the cons are getting upgraded. Pros: The public areas of the hotel were very clean, updated from the website's photos, and pleasant. The employees I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The hotel does offer a free breakfast which was pretty good. It included cold items like cinnamon rolls, bagels, and bread, cereal, and yogurt. They also had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and a neat machine that made decent, but not amazing pancakes for you. To drink there was milk, waler, juices, coffee, and tea. Regarding the rooms, the beds were very comfortable and seemed newer. A firm and soft pillow were provided and were very nice. The room size was fairly standard for a hotel and the ac was very quiet. Cons: It was definitely obvious that the hotel was going through updates. Parts of the room had clearly been upgraded, but the carpet felt old and just seemed kind of permanently dirty. The tv was small and was not a smart tv like a lot of hotels now. The bathroom was clean, but needed a lot of help, having peeling paper around the mirror and cracks in the shower tile and generally looking out of date. Out in-room Keurig was also broken. For whatever reason, the room was incredibly humid although the ac was working fine. This made everything kind of moist and gross. A note on location: The location itself is pretty convenient, but the area is busy day and night. There are a lot of bars, restaurants, tattoo parlors, and entertainment around the area. We did hear a lot of car noise and hallway noise overnight and I would not plan on strolling about by yourself after dark depending on who you are. That being said, the area didn't cause a problem and I wasn't concerned about it.

Good hotel with a alright location This hotel isn't very distinctive on the outside, but the room itself was nice and spacious. Other than a stain on the couch, it was clean. Service was friendly, and they have a decent hot breakfast. It's very close to Carson Street, but if you're traveling without a car, it's not super convenient to Downtown. It's possible to walk (about a half hour), but it's probably better to just take the bus or an Uber. If you don't mind the location, it's a good hotel for the price.
