Woke to bat flying around room and bat dung on my pillow. I am only writing this review due to the owner not holding up to his word. Last August my friend stayed here and I woke up to a bat flying around the room. This is an unmanned hotel so there is no one there at night. My friend I I turned on the lights and were unable to find the bat. There were no employees in the hotel so we did have many options so we left the light on and fell back to sleep after searching the room. We woke up to bat dung on our pillow! We called the owner and told him. He apologized and said that is a first. After returning home both my friend and I had several bite marks on our legs, torso and arms. We were not sure where the bites came from so I called my dr and explained the situation. She told me go to the emergency room to be evaluated because they are not equipped in the office to handle this if we needed treatment. I called the owner Jonas Petty and he assured me they would take care of the ER charge which was $902.00 after insurance. I contacted him several times and was sent a check for $500.00. I emailed him asking why he only partially paid the total and was told business was slow but he would send the remaining $400.00 next week. He never did and has stopped communicating. I am a small business owner and have never made a negative review on any business. This is not how you treat people or run a business. If he would like to follow through with his obligations I would gladly remove this review.

Not a great hotel, but not expensive and locally owned. I picked this hotel as it was midway on the trip and had great reviews. My review won't be so great. The hotel is across from the beautiful big building see in some photos, (see my photo of the hotel). The hotel is owned according to 1 of the 2 sisters that work it, by their brother. I love supporting small independent businesses. It's a quirky hotel, sort of like a B&B and hotel mixed. The price was good, the decoration is good, it was overall clean (except the A/C unit). There is narrow stairs and no elevator. Our room had NO windows, it was the cheapest room, bathroom was clean. Nobody is there during the night, but you can phone for assistance and the sister covering that night was very fast showing up. There was a problem as no heat, she didn't know how to turn it on. Another room had the same issue, when I finally got the baseboard to heat (broken knob) I went down the hall and told her how to fix it for the other room. I'm glad we didn't use the A/C all night (did try as the woman later did to heat the room with it but I think it's really just an A/C unit). The A/C unit was very moldy. (see photo). The bedroom doors have no deadbolt so if a previous renter copied the key, they can get in the room anytime. It's a safety issue. The door was awkward to close, as it's frame was split (see photo). I was charged an extra ~$8 as I had booked via hotels.com and the daytime sister claimed hotels.com had the wrong amount. The breakfast is a joke, it's containers of yogurt, sometimes OJ, and coffee, and tiny cheap Walmart snack bars. We did eat some yogurt and then later on the road get breakfast.

Not overly impressed Don’t expect a modern hotel room. This is an old building that has been renovated. Granted it was a hot day when I was there, the air conditioning didn’t keep the room cool. Additionally, this is a three floor hotel with no elevator. Be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs

Step back in time with all the modern conveniences The newly renovated WW Hotel is a landmark in the region. The new owners have fully, tastefully renovated the 1838 structure with full modern conveniences while maintaining the original charm. Friendly, comfortable, relaxing, quiet and charming. We will be back! As a side note, they have onsite both a great coffee shop and BBQ restaurant.
