Unfortunately not a good experience with this hotel The location was midway in our travels, so was convenient. The staff was helpful and polite. The room looked clean, but we woke up at 3 am with numerous bites from bugs. The staff were cooperative and transferred us to another room and assured us that they were sorry. The bottom line here is that I would not return to the hotel.

Sadly Disappointed The outside of the hotel paints a different picture of what is waiting for you on the inside. Employees are welcoming, friendly, and very polite. We stayed in a suite ($124) per night. We had two beds with lumpy mattresses, five pillows on each bed, and one blanket for warmth. No amenities in the room to speak of. We went downstairs to ask about restaurants in the town. Young lady had no knowledge of any place to eat as she had only been there about two weeks. There were no maps, lists of restaurants, or any information about Plainview. TV service was horrible, no information on Channel lineup, operation, any information would have been helpful. Room was probably very nice 10 years ago but now very worn and dated. Could not use bathtub because of the rust, entrance door had two inch gap at the bottom and 1 inch gap around remainder of door. Very noisy as you could hear everything especially doors closing and elevator noise. I could go on but I think you can see the picture. it would be a great help to seniors to have the taller commodes, grab bard near the bathtub, a chair to sit in to put on shoes and socks. Also the carts are a great help but, if you are a senior they are extremely hard to manage and get inside the room entrances. Accessibility is appreciated by everyone regardless of their age or agility. After the rooms are renovated and upgraded a binder of amenities, restaurants, info about Plainview including places of interest would be greatly appreciated by travelers.

An Average Holiday Inn Express but if you have a pet, they've doubled the pet fee. We stay at HI Express routinely in our travels, and this one in particular, several times a year traveling back and forth from Austin to Denver. They have always charged $25 for our small dog. This time in October, they charged $50 with no mention that it was doubled. When I asked about this, the young lady at the front desk went to the computer and said she lowered it again. But I just got the bill, and the fee was not lowered. I've called the hotel twice to no avail and written IHG, but no help. The hotel said IHG sets the price. IHG said "Policies like this are set by hotel ownership, independently of IHG® Hotels & Resorts, and I am happy to get this over to hotel management so they can follow up with you". That hasn't happened. We won't stay here any more if they continue with this pet fee and lack of follow through.

Bathroom needs renovation This hotel is convenient to the interstate, and quiet. The pool area is currently closed, and there is no indication when it might reopen. To judge from our room, the bathrooms are in need of renovation. It took several minutes to figure out how to engage the shower. You have to pull down on a knob on the bottom of the faucet-- a device that I have not seen elsewhere in years. The shower head had one setting, and the dispensers for the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were situated about 59 inches above the tub floor. At 5 feet 9 inches I had trouble getting my hand in the correct position, and I suspect that shorter adults and children will find it very, very difficult to use the dispensers without assistance. Please have maintenance lower them!
