Clean and Safe. Very convenient for business in Pontotoc I was consulting in an office in Pontotoc and preferred to be close by (as opposed to driving the 20-30 minutes from hotels in neighboring towns.) The American Inn is the only motel in this town, I realized that the entry into the rooms was on the outside, which is not normally preferable for me, but I felt that for one night (actually less than 12 hours) I could be fine with that. I asked for a room on the ground floor on the well-lit front side (street side) of the building (mainly because I felt safer as a female traveling alone on that side) and was able to park my car close to the room. The owner checked me in and was very pleasant and accommodating. The room itself was modest but clean. (I stay in a lot of Hampton Inns so by now a hotel room is a hotel room is a hotel room.) The bed was comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. A downside was the street noise, but I did ask for that room and was able to use my white noise app to reduce it. The point is, I felt safe here and will return if back in the area.

Anil and Priti, hosts, went above and beyond Our biking group stayed for a 3-day weekend and Anil and Priti, hosts, allowed us to use an entire other room as our party room to watch the Big Game and enjoy snacks and drinks. Rooms are clean and the location is great if you are biking Tanglefoot Trail two blocks away.

College Football weekend Updated, clean, and comfortable! Don't let the exterior fool you. Sure it looks dated on the outside, but I'm not worried about that. I was in town for the football game and this is maybe 30 minutes to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. Me and my buddy needed a place to stay and there's no vacancy in Oxford so here we go! We pull up and I'm like "um..ok". We don't care about frills or anything, we just need a place to crash after the game. We walk in the lobby to check in and the entire perception changed. The lobby was very clean and updated. The front desk was SO nice! The guy was chatting with us about our travels. It was around 12pm and check-in wasn't until 2pm, but he said he had a room ready and he let us go ahead and check-in and get to our room. Awesome! We get to the room and again, nice! It was updated, new floors, paint, everything. The tv was very nice and they also had a mini-fridge which seems to be uncommon in most places these days. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nice, it was a great experience. Everything was clean, quiet, comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

Won't work with you if you reserve through Hotels.com The people who run this establishment are rude! The rooms we received had a horrible smell. understanding they where smoking rooms. Then we wanted to cancel our second night and were told "you booked through Hotels.com not through us so too bad!" Needed to add another guest to our room and they would only accept CASH!! Would never suggest or stay here again.
