Our "Home away from Home" My husband and I have stayed here twice now, and it will always be "our home away from home" now. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but what really stands out with this Econolodge are the "inn-keepers". They welcomed us like family and provided for all our needs, and then some. It is rare to find a motel where one can be greeted with such kindness and warmth! This is a motel with HEART!

Nickel and Dime Hotel and you pay to park in the lot!! This was the worst choice ever they demanded a $200 deposit but, let you know once you are ready to check in also, they charge to park in their lot after you've already paid for the room! The lady with an accent stated " NO DEPOSIT NO ROOM! I've been to many hotels as a travel nurse and many Choice Hotels in Oregon but, have never been demanded to pay a $200 deposit the max was $50.00 even at luxury big brand hotels.

Good for price This hotel met my need. I needed a place with cheap rate, parking space, and easy access to the city center. It satisfied all the needs. However, you would get what you would pay for. That being said, the amenities and cleanliness are not at the top level.

Cozy, Functional stay near downtown Portland Considering this place is on the lower end of the price spectrum, I was very satisfied with the product that I received. The room was clean and cozy, though a bit outdated. There was a large desk for me to do work on. The bathroom was clean and functional. Water pressure was strong. Location was perfect for a trip to Portland—close to bus, tram and streetcar stops, also within walking distance to downtown and several food truck pods. One criticism I do have is that the sound proofing is not better. I can hear my neighbors’ TV and they were not watching it at an obscene level. And doors being slammed from next door and the lower level could’ve be felt inside my room. Also the room vibrated when large vehicles would pass by. I would definitely book here again in the future when I return to Portland.

Really Great Location- Clean Hotel in the Budget Price My son and I took the Amtrak Empire Builder to Portland. I mention this because- this is a great hotel to stay at if you take the train. There is plenty of public transportation to get around and to the hotel. It is set away from the downtown area that seems a little sketchy. It was very clean and a nice location near the PSU campus. I have not stayed in an Econolodge in some time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This hotel was very clean, the staff was very kind- letting us check in a bit early to shower and clean up after 2 days on the train. I really like how the floors are laminate not old dirty carpet. This hotel has had some upgrades and it shows. Definitely recommend this to visitors of Portland and especially those taking the train who want a safe, clean nice stop over.
