Perfectly satisfactory Due to an early flight the next morning, I had limited time during my one-night stay but the room was well-equipped and comfortable. On checking in, I was somewhat surprised and a bit disappointed that reception staff were not able to provide me with advice on the location of rental car return facilities at the nearby airport. I subsequently discovered that the lanes to take on the airport approach road were well-marked. Apparently the reception staff on duty did not live in Portland and, so, were not knowledgeable about the hotel's surrounding area. The large bar/restaurant area was pleasant. I was very happy with my evening meal. I was very impressed with the barman/waiter - I do not know his name but he was easily recognisable by his multiple earrings. He had a great ability to faultlessly remember accurately what people had ordered by way of food and drinks; this included six customers at one table.

SCAM or very poor management. Maybe both. Pretty scammy situation… We made our PREPAID and non-refundable reservation through Park/Stay/Fly for two nights – one at the start of our trip and one at the end – with parking for our vehicle between. We’d done this before at this hotel and it worked out well and the price for it all was reasonable for what we got. Our initial check-in and first night stay in late October was no problem. Upon our return near midnight on November 7th, we took the provided shuttle from the airport to the hotel and at the desk, I noted I had a paid reservation under my name, providing my ID. The clerk did the usual tapping on his computer and then mumbled something about a temporary security fee (not unusual). When I noticed the “security fee” I was being asked to authorize on my card was for over $166, I said this can’t be right for just a temporary hold. The clerk told us if was for the room PLUS the temporary security fee. I told him that was incorrect as I had prepaid in full. Clerk said “that’s not what I show” in a rather curt, unprofessional way. Luckily, being a very organized traveler, I had the printed receipt of my pre-payment in my bags which I pulled out. When I produced it and put it on the counter for the clerk to see, he just waived it away and said “I’ll work it out here” without even glancing at it. Um…OK. And then magically, he produced a correct $50 temporary charge for security and our room key without ever looking at my proof of prepayment, without so much as an apology for the misunderstanding. He just curtly sent us on our way to the elevator. How could he go from “that’s not what I show” to suddenly finding I’d already paid for the room, without the documentation I gave him and that he ignored? More than a little fishy. That sounds like a scam… Weary travelers returning late at night just anxious for their room, you charge them for it again and they’ll never really notice. BUT THIS IS FAR FROM THE END OF THE STORY… Now that we are home from our travels by several days and having time to review credit card charges, I found that this Holiday In did, in fact, charge me, without my authorization, for BOTH nights we stayed at the hotel…the beginning and end of the trip. The woman clerk when we checked in, clearly understood the ParkStayFly package I had paid for as she even took all the vehicle information for the 11 days or so of parking. Yet, and without her saying ANYTHING to me, charged my card for a one night stay at the hotel. And then, after the issues described above upon our return to the hotel, the clerk told me “he’d take care of it” and, apparently, that is by charging me for the room without my authorization at all. BOTH of these nights were pre-paid (and non-refundable) through the ParkStayFly offer. I’ve written to both the hotel and ParkStayFly and have yet to have either of them resolve this issue. My next step is to have my bank charge-back to the hotel for the two nights they charged me. This is either a huge scam or very poor management. Maybe both. This is a giant red flag and I will pursue this completely. I could NEVER recommend this hotel. Never again PDX Holiday Inn!

It’s okay I stayed here because it’s close to airport with my bestie. The beds were comfy, room was clean hot water was perfect. Only drawback was the elevator issues. The breakfast wasn’t worth what I paid. It should charge half. Coffee in room could have more pods and creamers.

Tub doesn’t drain, water pressure low in sink, they double charge as well. Booked through sleep park fly and was charged at time of booking. Get to the hotel and they have me in the system but tell me it has not yet been paid. Show them the charge went through my bank and they claim they don’t have it. After I booked it, the called the hotel and they verified they had it. I got double charged (I’ll be disputing the charge) and got a room where the tub didn’t drain and the water pressure was low in the sink. Won’t stay here again and will open a complaint with the BBB as well.

Damaged luggage from shuttle employee My luggage was damaged by the shuttle employee of Holiday Inn Portland Airport @ 8439 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland, OR 97220 on August 21st, 2024 approximately 9:45 pm as he dragged my luggage roughly from the shuttle bus at the Portland Airport. He apologized immediately and took a picture of the damage. I have a picture of the employee. I called Dreamcy at the front desk and explained the occurrence. Dreamcy apologized and verbalize to bring the suitcase on my return trip to the front desk for compensation. I returned on August 25 with my damaged luggage to the front desk at approximately 11:45 pm and spoke to Josh. I inquired about an incident report. He responded an incident report was probably done and he didn't have authority in this situation. He gave me a business card and stated to call in the morning August 26 at 9 AM. I called Tristan at Embassy suites (where the shuttle buses are parked) and inquired about an incident report. He confirmed to call in the morning. I called 503 914 5240 @ 9:30 AM on August 26 and left a message on Ehab's Barwaree ( General manager) voice mail explaining the damaged luggage. No response. I called 2:18 pm and left a message. No response. I called Derrick Chand 503 914 5256 (front desk office manager) of Holiday Inn Portland Airport and left a message about my damaged luggage @ 2:20pm. No response. I called both Ehab and Derrick Chand in the morning of August 27 and left messages. No response. I am a repeat customer who often parks at the Holiday Inn Portland Airport facility to fly out of Portland AIrport. I am disappointed at the silence from the General Manager Ehab Barwaree and front Office Manager Derrick Chand on my damaged luggage caused by the shuttle employee who damaged the integrity of my luggage.
