Long weekend This was the first time that my husband and I stayed here. We stayed 3 nights. Was very pleased with the staff and their friendly attitude. Breakfast was very good. It was a little noisy with all the children but fun to watch them make their waffles! There was plenty of parking and the pool was very nice too. The only problem we had was when we asked for housekeeping it unfortunately didn’t happen but was taken care of very quickly. Will stay here again.

Great stay for the money I admittedly did not have overly high expectations for this hotel given it's location and the fact that you have to drive through a deserted parking lot of two closed/abandoned stores to get to it. However, I was pleasantly surprised once I got inside. The lobby was warm and welcoming. The room was a little on the small side, but most importantly, it was clean. The beds were comfortable, although one of of the beds was very creaky - like any time my daughter moved, it was very loud. We stayed during the Microsoft breach, so when we arrived the system was down and the front desk were not able to program keys. They helped me get the digital key set up on my app, which worked fine. But I also saw the front desk attendants walking people to their room to be able to help them get in for those people who didn't have the app available. I commend them for pivoting and dealing with a difficult situation. Only reason it's not getting an "excellent" is due to the very creaky bed, the outside of the building can use some curb appeal and I prefer hotels that have the sheets covering the blanket like a make-shift duvet cover, which this did not. The price is very reasonable, but it's priced that way since you're pretty far removed from the downtown area (although a quick drive).

Just OK This hotel is just a pit-stop hotel - no frills and overpriced for a roadside stay. The hotel was kind of clean and comfortable, but it just smelled so bad of cigarette smoke - in our room and outside everywhere. The employees seem to all smoke at all the doors - in fact an employees was smoking sitting at the main entrance as we left. Just seems kind of gross and in this day and age I can't believe they allow smoking on the property at all...One other thing I thought was kind of gross was that they allow pets in the breakfast buffet area. I understand having them in the room - but that's like taking a pet to a restaurant which in my opinion is just unsanitary. Probably would not return here.

uncontrol-able guests and inadequate staffing This property was clean, but it was quite apparent that hotel staff did not have control of belligerent and rude parents, who were drunk and did not supervise their children. There were 3 large groups at this property when my husband and I stayed her, a hockey group, wresting and soccer group. Parents took over control of the lobby both Friday and Saturday night, while totally neglecting their children who took over the pool area, and freely ran and 'played' in all other areas of the hotel. I will not stay at this location again, I will pay $25 more a night to stay at a more expensive hotel, maybe in the downtown area where hopefully this will not happen again. Staff did not even ask me how my stay was when I checked out. Lobby/Breakfast areas were so full, you just about had to stand to try and eat something all while dodging running children and hung over parents.

Not terrific On the plus side - close to the highway and downtown Portsmouth. Not so great was the smell of chlorine from the pool when you walk in. The really thin walls and noise from above and hallways was very disturbing. As was the highway noise. Bedroom was nice and clean but our shoes stuck to the bathroom floor. OK stopover but wouldn’t recommend for a vacation destination.
