Good stop We stopped here for the night while headed north, stayed in room 103. This is an older facility, probably having gone through several owners and modifications. The room was smaller than expected but not confining, beds were very comfortable, and it was obvious that the facility was well maintained. It met the expectations of an Ascend Hotel.

Pictures are Decieving We made reservations on line after we saw this motel on trip advisor. We requested the suite. A charge of $236 was charged to our account. When were arrived and went in to get the keys we were told the suites were on the second floor and no elevator, only steps. I could not do the stairs so asked for another room on the ground floor. The front desk clerk said he would cancel first charge and charge again a lesser price for the room, it was a double. We were shocked at the room. It was tiny and stuffed in an alcove was a chair and fridge with a window AC. The room was clean but this is an old motel that has been sugar coated. We decided to decline the room. We went back and turned in the key. We were charged the suite price even though I have mobility issues and could not use room. This was NOT listed in description of motel. I feel we are due a refund. Be aware what you see online is not always what it turns out to be!

Sorry to say but this hotel was not great… Our room was “in the basement” of the property… downstairs on the backside of the building. Our room was dark, smelled of damp water, and had very dirty floors. The room needs to be painted and updated. The doors to the bathroom didn’t even close. The staff was very kind but there is only so much they can do to fix the facilities. Please update your hotel or at least those basement rooms!!

Review of Port Inn and Suites We had a very nice stay at this hotel with a spacious parking lot to accommodate our Class B RV. The staff was pleasant and able to provide an early check-in time. The room was large and clean, although dated. Our bed was very comfortable, with no sagging in the middle! The hotel is conveniently located in downtown Portsmouth, and the staff provided great information on parking, which is free in the Parriot Street lot. We enjoyed our stay and the morning breakfast bar. It is not a fancy hotel; renovations would significantly improve the quality.

Northeastern Charm Finally, a hotel with a small bathroom that knows what to do for the door! Two wings of half door, which made maneuvering easy. The hotel is attractive. The front desk was very friendly. The room was large and comfortable. Good bed. Nice breakfast selection. I would definitely stay here again if I was in town. It's handy for the highway, but more on the edge of town, but you can Uber to the shops and restaurants for cheaper than parking in the busy areas.
