Excellent staff, breakfast and location! Darnella and Suri, at the front desk, and Jenn, the shuttle driver, made our stay very special with their warm, caring professional ism. You can tell that they enjoy their jobs, and they rock at it! This hotel is beautiful! The lobby/dining room is so ornate. The breakfast exceeded my expectations...each day fresh fruit, lemon poppy seed scones, eggs, meat, potatoes, blueberry waffles. I was in heaven! The hotel is walking distance to Brown University and really every where. The room was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.

Dated hotel, good location, nice staff Great staff and large room. Very dated rooms. Loud toilet and lid that doesn’t have a slow-close. You can walk everywhere from this location Strange connection to a parking lot right at the entrance that completely steamrolls us into parking there - when we get out of the car we see a sign from the hotel alerting people that this particular parking lot is NOT AFFILIATED with the hotel. Why this guy at the parking lot is allowed to scam us is ridiculous! So here’s a tip, when someone doesn’t answer your question(s) then it’s time to realize you are being taken advantage of.

Very nice stay in a historic building, in the heart of Providence Great experience all around. Location, amenities and room comfort are all top-notch for the price. We took the train and they picked us up in the free shuttle promptly. We were on the 9th floor in the even numbered rooms, which have a nice view of the city (odd numbers may fave the parking garage). They offered late checkout on request (1pm). Using the app is great because you can choose your own room, check in and open the door with a digital key and easily chat with the front desk.

Excellent hotel in the heart of downtown Providence Another great stay at Hampton inn and Suites Providence Downtown! This is probably our 4th or 5th stay here over the past 4 years. We were in town for graduation, and we could not have asked for better accommodations. The hotel was super clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It is walking distance to many bars and restaurants. There is a complimentary shuttle service (downtown only, they do not go to the airport or beyond a few miles of the hotel), so we were able to catch a ride to Federal Hill for dinner. The driver was very knowledgeable about Providence and her stories about the area were fascinating . Ice water, hot water and coffee are provided in the lobby 24/7. We are not big breakfast eaters, so really did not take advantage of the breakfast other than the fresh fruit and very good coffee (you seldom find good coffee in hotels!). We reserved a suite, which included a small fridge and microwave. The room was really quite spacious for a historic, downtown hotel.

Overall good stay. Great location. The room size was really great. Old historical building so not tip top shape. The 9th floor rooms have some issues with water leaks from above. We had an issue with a buzzing noise from sprinkler. Staff were very responsive and we were able to move rooms. Great location. Easily walked to Thayer street (there is a steep hill though). Good price. Would stay there again.
