Please enjoy yourself To get started, be aware that a lot of the negative reviews are inaccurate and in some cases malicious, I believe. We stayed here 7 times last year with friends and family, and 3 times this year. While there are sometimes small glitches, overwhelmingly the food, amenities, and staff are excellent. You will see people who made informed bad decisions blame the resort or hear people complain about things that don't actually happen or exist at the resort. This suggests these folks are from other resorts bad mouthing this resort deliberately. Don't be alarmed if you want to enjoy yourself you can. If you have an issue speak with someone.

Peaceful and relaxing easy get-together with family -- good food. Food was wonderful make sure to make your first night reservation before getting there- so nice not to worry about anything. A special shout out to Milca and Raul (I think) who quickly created a friendly and helpful impromptu Spanish class (at the request of my father in law) and did a great job with both beginners and high intermediate level people in our group. We also loved the friendly bike tour guides (Lidia?) and volleyball guides. Wish they would post a sample schedule of events on the website, just to get an idea of what goes on. And don't forget about the kayaks/paddle boards that you can reserve for free! That was fun too, although you can't go far. We didn't like the volume of the music at the activities pool, but there were quiet pools to go to as well. Beaches are cleaned of the seaweed you see elsewhere (but you still don't want to go in the water because of it.) Puerto Morelos is a cute, small town.

Amazing The El Cid was absolutely wonderful!! We would definitely recommend and go back ! The preferred club was great and we would say worth the extra money to be a part of. We loved our butlers that helped us and checked in with us each day , our main butler was Luis and awesome a just so good!! Alma and Abraham were also very helpful !! ! Some of the things they did for us was book all our restaurants, pillow menu, aromatherapy and delivered a bottle of red wine each night we asked for one, and extra beer! He also was available to drive us in his golf cart as needed. Food at the resort was very good !! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was great ! The resort and grounds were beautiful and the room was roomy, and the bed was very comfortable with a good mattress. We liked the location of our building and the options of using the other resorts attached. Ocean view would have been nice but it was only a short walk to the beach and main pool. Honestly is was a wonderful vacation and we didn’t want to come home!!
