Quick Overnight Stop Holiday Inn Express & Suites is located immediately adjacent to I-10 at the Quincy exit. The hotel is convenient to the interstate, but you'll drive about five miles into town to find a restaurant or a grocer. We were hungry upon our arrival at dusk and were unable to find an eating establishment that served reasonably healthy fare. The desk attendant informed us that Laredo Grill (Mexican food) was open on Sunday night and that the food was above average. She was correct. Our double queen suite was very large and loaded with amenities. Aside from two comfortable beds and a fully furnished sitting room, features included closets, drawers and storage space galore and a full-length mirror. We were pleased with the excess of electrical outlets everywhere we looked, as well as above average accent lighting and lamps in every area of the room. I was very surprised at how clean the exterior windows were . . . a rarity in hotel rooms. We were able to enjoy the view. I was also pleased to find extra blankets on a chilly November night and blackout blinds which kept daylight away until we were ready to greet it. The Keurig coffee maker was appreciated; raw sugar packets and real half & half would have been a nice touch. The mini-refridge and microwave came in handy for storing and reheating leftover dinner, and I was surprised to find a safe in the closet. They're becoming a rare amenity in hotel rooms. The bathroom was large, and there was plenty of counter space to accommodate personal care products for two people. Our room was clean and everything was in good working order, except for a few sizeable chips in the porcelain tub. I liked the wall dispensers for body wash and shampoo, rather than wasteful, single-use plastic containers. The room lacked a recycle bin though. We did encounter a few issues with the room; thus the 4-bubble rating. The first problem was sound-proofing. We could hear the TV playing at normal volume in the next room through the wall. The second problem was no nightlight in the bathroom, while the ceiling light was blinding. We groped our way around in the dark for middle-of-the-night bathroom excursions. Another lack was an exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the mirror got steamed up. We didn't bother with breakfast because there were no organic or non-GMO offerings. We could not find the desk attendant at check-out, so we left the room keys on the counter. As we exited the front door, we did find her smoking a cigarette just outside the entrance. All in all, the positives far outweigh the negatives at this hotel. I especially like the pillow options. I can always find one that's comfortable at IHG brand inns, so I never wake up with an achy neck. I wouldn't hesitate to book another night at this Holiday Inn Express.

Moldy tub We arrived around Midnight after a long day of driving. There were few rooms available as there was a home football game for the collage in the area. The price was higher than online advertised but I was unable to book online as it was already the next day so I was told I had to pay the higher price. Fine, I get it. Get to the room with my family open the door, smells like musty/mold. The bathroom tub was full of mold. It was the worst hotel experience I ever had.

Good room, worse than normal breakfast We usually stay at the Hampton next door but it seemed like we were always on the loud interstate side of the hotel so we decided to try the Holiday Inn this trip. Check in was efficient and quick but the clerk did not want to be at work that was evident. The room was very nice and quiet! No road noise at all. It was also clean. We got to breakfast at 9:10 and there were two biscuits left, two sweet rolls and eggs. The eggs were dry, dryer than a normal hotel buffet! We put a tasty gravy on them to make them edible. My wife had a biscuit that was as hard as a hockey puck! She dropped it on the table and I thought she had dropped a rock on the table! The sweet roll was extremely dry, so dry that I did not even finish it. So nice room but far below average service and breakfast quality.

Not a bad hotel, but a bad experience. The rating is average because the hotel and room were actually fine. Nothing stellar, but clean and comfortable. The staff, however, was aloof and even downright rude. Check in was terse and unfriendly, if not efficient. After using the lobby bathroom, I informed another desk person that the bathroom was out of toilet paper and the garbage overflowing. I got no response at all! Not a "Oh sorry about that", or "Thanks for letting me know" or even and simle "OK". The employee looked at me and then walked away.

Rude and Unwelcoming We decided to stop in Quincy, FL. on our way back to Texas for the night. When we pulled up the employee was outside smoking and when she came to the desk she was rude and unwelcoming. Just down right mean! We didn’t mean to interrupt her smoke break. This place needs better customer service. We ended up at Hampton Inn next door. Totally opposite experience! Hampton Inn was great!
