Good Choice We chose GrandStay because it was close to all the attractions we wanted to visit. The location is very convenient to the interstate as well as restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Most especially Belle and Alina. These two ladies went above and beyond.

Don't Ask Clerk About Restaurants The hotel was fine but don't ask the clerk about restaurants if you want a good dining experience. We should have checked Trip Advisor. When we asked the clerk for a dining recommendation, she said there was all kinds of restaurants on Haines Ave right by the hotel. All we found was cheap franchise restaurants. We don't eat at franchise restaurants at home, so we sure don't when we travel. Disappointing evening

Pretty good place to stay. Nice property conveniently located near I-90 and the city. Breakfast was a little sparse based on other hotel included breakfast's that I have had. The food otherwise was OK. The workout room was difficult to get into because you had to " push hard on the door " after using your key card. Room was a 8.5 out of 10 on cleanliness. Place was quiet. Did not use the pool or any other facilities. Rate charged was less than what was shown online.

Non-existent housekeeping Stayed here two nights during a road trip to Rapid City. Room had a kitchenette, desk, sofa bed and private bedroom. Found our room to have stained chairs so requested some extra towels to drape over them since we were already settled in but they were never brought up, had to go down to the front desk to get them myself. When making up the sofa bed for our child, noticed that there was no blanket in the room for the worn out sofabed so had to call the front desk again for one. The bed was very comfortable but the A/C made a terrible noise (like a helicopter) in the middle of the night that woke everyone up. The free breakfast was OK and liked that they served it early. Requested housekeeping in advance per the hotel policy but the next day our room was exactly as we left it, housekeeping never showed up. Had to go to the front desk again for fresh towels and trashbags. Felt like a self service hotel for full service prices. My biggest complaint was the carpet was FILTHY! The bottoms of our feet would be dirty again shortly after showering it was so bad. This could be a nice hotel but only if they make significant improvements to their housekeeping and maintenance.

Terrible hotel This has to be one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at. When I went to my room I found it not ready (only bath towels available, no hand towels or wash cloths), carpet needed vacuuming and all the dishes were in the dishwasher. It was late and I assumed it be addressed with the next day’s service. Little did I know the room wouldn’t be cleaned for my entire 8 day stay! Everyday it was an excuse —- we’re short staffed, you have to ask before 11:00 (it was 11:05 when I asked that day)….only to be told “I’ll make sure it’s done tomorrow”—it never happened. Upon complaining one evening after we returned from being out all day the desk person brought us toilet paper (we were out), fresh towels and took our overflowing trash. I have never written a hotel review —not my thing, but this hotel is terrible! And no one ever apologized or really seemed to care. Horrible hotel—— avoid it at all costs.
