Amazing Customer Service and caring people! Arrived on Friday to stay for a week and attend a Charlie Palmer event on Saturday, but unfortunately I didn’t make it as I wasn’t feeling well. Violeta, my Host immediately took care of things and had me taken to the hospital to get checked out. Unbeknownst to me, I ended up being admitted into the hospital and spent the weekend there ! Luckily after testing, I got released! I was invited to go to the “ Ground Breaking Event” for the incredible remodel and expansion taking place, First Class event! Can’t wait to see how everything turns out. Again thank you to Frank Nguyen and Violeta for encouraging me to go as I wasn’t planning on going.

Pretty but far from perfect We upgraded to a suite upon arrival. We appreciated the extra room but there were issues. Housekeeping is less than stellar. Toiletries were never refreshed during our 4 day stay. They pretty much made the bed and tossed new towels on the counter. My husband and I both have CPAP machines. Only one side of the bed had a night stand and outlets. It was difficult to accommodate my machine and chargers. The safe wasn’t actually bolted into the cabinet. Anyone could have just made off with the safe!!

BLOWN AWAY BY THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE!!!! So, let me start off by saying I work in the hospitality industry as a doorman at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco, so I know a bit about the hotel industry. With that being said, WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Went here fro a bachelor party, I'm old school so I wanted to do Circus Circus, haven't been to Reno in sometime and apparently Circus Circus, and that part of town has seen better days, but whatever, I agreed to stay at this GSR knowing nothing about it, my first impressions is just the grand scale of pulling up into this drive way, it really makes you feel like you are at THE SPOT, the driveway has enough lanes for maybe 5-6 cars lanes, it's just MASSIVE. It's like checking into Disney Land for adults, my only knot pick observation, and maybe because I am a doorman at a hotel, there was really not a particular person there greeting anybody, I pulled up around 2ish on Friday, got out of my car and just kinda waited for a while, still nothing, no biggy, just an observation (later that night I did see the valets doing their thing, met a guy that used to work at the Hyatt in Tahoe and he was a great Valet) Check in was seamless, being in the hotel industry I tipped then front desk agent a little and asked her if she could pull some strings to check me in early (for those not in the know, this will help you, just drop the agent 20 bucks), she got me into 1435, great room extremely comfortable bed, much better than the Hyatt Place Airport (trust me). The room is spacious, clean, modern, good room, but what really REALLY sets this hotel apart is the lobby festivities, you have an option of multiple bars, we placed some bets at the sports bookie bar, we dined at Charlie Palmers steak house where our server Julian was great. I gave this place a 5 start review, but if I did have a critique, Starbucks is fine and I get it, it's what people know and want, but Reno has a coffee place called the Human Bean, that place should be in the lobby, much MUCH better coffee. We went out for the night, and again, just nit picking here, but I wish we had a doorman like the role I play at my hotel where we could have talked to the guy and get the low down on where to go, what to do, and equally as important where NOT to go. I post a picture of us leaving the hotel for the evening at around 8:30pm, NOBODY THERE TO TALK TO OR HELP, seems strange for such a massive incredible place. I was able to go in and talk with some of the guys in security with the yellow jackets, they helped me out with some great intel and things to know, but BOY, what a place, something else to mention, bowling alley, tattoo parlor, sandwich spot, swimming pool (I never visited the swimming pool), I will be coming back for sure and will be documenting my next travels more detailed, this was just a quick over night trip for. bachelor party, but absolutely well worth it, what a great place!!!!

Upcoming Stay When checking on accommodations and needs for our business trip. I had to reach out to reservations. I was put into contact with Michaela Cox, and Clare Stimpson. Both have been extremely instrumental in providing help and solutions to my requests and inquiries on my up coming stay. It is behind the scenes support that define a company! These two have been communicative, timely, and super helpful! Respectfully, Jim Tucker

Never staying there again. Me and my friends have stayed at the GSR after Burning Man for many years and never had any problems. This year however our experience was less than ideal. It was a categorical nightmare from start to finish. We stayed there for a couple of nights before heading to BM, and after, and in both legs of the stay got placed in their old tower which we came to learn, has serious plumbing issues. We had a severe leak in our bathroom on both ends of the trip, which soaked all of our belongings sitting around the sink, and when I politely asked the front desk to move us, they initially offered a room in the same tower, which given the lack of surprise in the attendant’s face, seems to be a known issue. On top of that, we had numerous hidden fees throughout our stay, including a “resort” fee, which the staff shamelessly lied about, claiming it had always been there, when we’ve never been charged that over the years. They also charged us for a housekeeping fee even though our room was not cleaned once, not because we didn’t want it, but because housekeeping simply didn’t turn up! It also took me close to an hour to get someone to bring us fresh towels, as this establishment that calls itself a 4 star resort, no longer has humans for guests services. Staying at the GSR was a tradition that has come to an end, we will not even consider staying there again.
