Our families place to rest in Rochester Really nice Holiday Inn Express, easy to find and get too, right off the interstate. OK, one way driveway in, but still easy. This hotel has been a wonderful "find" for our family, dealing with many, many medical appointments at University Hospital, and we live four hours away. Family has stayed her more than half a dozen times already. The staff is so kind, so polite and so helpful to my very elderly parents. The front desk goes above and beyond to put them on the first floor whenever possible, and if the handicap rooms are taken, they put them in a room with a walk-in shower. The rooms are so clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. The AC works great, and there is lots of hot water for showers. I could go on & on, because this is now our families "go to place", at least once a month if not more, but it should be enough to know this hotel is GREAT. BUT I cannot finish without acknowledging one special employee, and that's Donna at the front desk. Every time, without fail, Donna has gone above & beyond to help our family. I call from St. Louis, as I make the arrangements, but Donna is always so helpful not only on the phone, but once my parents arrive. At 96 Dad might mess up the TV, but Donna or one of the other front desk guys will go help. Mom at 93 didn't quite understand how to close the automatic shades, Donna went & helped. So to Jose Torres, General Manager; thank you for having Donna. Also the young man who works maintenance/housekeeping during the day, and the front desk at night. Amazing staff.....all of them. Thank you

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES - DON'T TRUST THIS HOTEL! Had a reservation at this hotel booked months in advance and with the hotel directly ( not through third party). The hotel called within days of my arrival and told me that they cancelled my reservation due to "overbooking". They claimed it was because a group that was there was extending their stay. It was Parents Weekend at the university nearby - I do believe this is why they cancelled my reservation. They knew they could get more money and hike up the price due to the weekend. Totally dishonest and horrible business practices. If you want to actually have a room reserved for you, stay somewhere else!

Bad experience Do not stay in the back side of this hotel. There is a busy and noisy highway that makes sleeping difficult. Add to that a lack of noise-barrier between rooms, and you have a formula for no sleep. Our neighbor had his TV on all night long. The bathroom is so small that you have to close the door first before you sit on the toilet. Exercise room was ok but water machine was empty - no one bothered to change it. Loud music in lobby all day and night - hard to have a conversation let alone do any work. Breakfast was a plus, and price very reasonable. But, if you can't sleep, what is a cheap hotel worth. I would NOT stay here again.

Clean hotel and friendly staff The staff was super friendly and helpful, the place was clean. The price was reasonable. It has a pool and complimentary breakfast. I would stay again. Close to the ice rink, which was the reason we were there. Alot of restaurants and shopping nearby as well.

Clean room but common areas are dirty. Here for a bball tournament and i always lay down honest and fair reviews. Hallways and common areas lack detail and were dirty. Chair is the breakfast area was torn. Come on manager small things and being clean is huge. Two queen beds are stuffed into a small room. I will say our room was not fancy but adequate. For over $150 I didn’t feel a value. This is in the class of a Choice hotel not IHG. I will give it a 3.8.
