Rome weekender We spent a fantastic weekend in Rome where we stayed at the Orange Hotel. The location of the hotel is perfect, and only minutes away for the Vatican City and Sistine chapel. It is also a great location for service buses, breakfast cafes and metro. The suite that we had was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. On leaving we accidentally left our jackets which were returned to us by the very helpful staff, grazie mille.

This hotel overcharged and would not refund Location was very good. Thus is the only positive I can give. It was a very basic a cramped room considering '4star'. I woukd say 2 or 3 star. Main complaint is being overcharged with no justification. Unfortunately booked as one person in error, instead of 2. On booking site (opodo) at that time there was no difference on price. Buy the hotel wanted 80Euros for the extra person. Yet even on the hotel's own website the difference was only 50 euros. The hotel said the website needed to be updated (obviously the hotel's responsibility not the guest. Now regret not standing my ground and refusing to pay. My advice: Make sure no errors are made when booking as they WILL rip you off. Or, better still, find a better hotel

Ruined 2 days in Rome because they left us stranded on a boat port when they were supposed to pick us up The Orange Hotel was a complete disaster. We had arranged in advance with the hotel to have a driver pick us up at a boat port in Citivecchia in the evening of our arrival. They did not send a driver. They blamed it on everyone else even though I have it confirmed in writing. We could not get a taxi or uber. We had to wait in the very cold, CLOSED boat port for 6 hours. After the hotel promised to get a taxi or uber, they did not. We had to walk 2 km at 4 am in the morning on cobblestone, uphill to catch a train to the hotel. We did not arrive to the Hotel until 6:30 a.m. because of the Hotel's failure. They finally admitted they made a mistake; yet, they still insisted on charging the full amount. They ruined our first night in Rome, our second day because we were utterly exhausted, put our lives at risk and I could go on...overall a miserable job and I would never recommend this hotel. Both my boyfriend and I are experienced, international travelers. This was one of the worst experiences ever. Additionally, the breakfast was horrible and the rooms smelled like sewage.

Good location very basic hotel. Good location, 5 minute walk from Vatican. Approx 20 min walk to trevi fountain and Spanish steps. bars, restaurants and supermarkets near by. Also close to taxi pick up points, metro and buses. Hotel is very basic and lacks facilities. pictures appeared to show a roof top which was closed when we went. TV didn't work in the room, lights also didn't work. bedding was stained (beds were changed the following day which was nice but new sheets also stained) Room could do with a freshen up. Bathroom was nice and clean, lovely shower. The room was also secure and required a code to get in which made the room feel very safe. Although on busy street, quiet at night which meant we slept well. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would recommend staying if you're just wanting a basic room and plan on being out. Not if you're rethink a base to spend time in.

TWO STAR AT BEST How on earth is this a four star hotel. DO NOT be fooled by their amazing photographer that can turn a 2 star hotel into an appealing hotel. The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location being close to St Peter’s. The rooms were in desperate need of attention, the beds were back breaking and the “pillows” were like pancakes. The staff were friendly enough but unfortunately that didn’t make up for the hostel experience. The hot tub is 50 euros and needs to be pre booked. I would not recommend and will not return.
