Great service during a hurricane! We had to abandon our house during Hurricane Ian and were lucky enough to get the last room available at the Ruskin Inn. There was no services offered during the storm, of course, but the staff was as friendly and as accommodating as possible. The weight limit on dogs was waved, allowing our entire family to be safe. I would not hesitate to put out-of-town guest up at this hotel.

Know what you are getting Staff was fine. The room was freshly painted and the floors updated. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was OK The fixtures are old and need to be replaced. The "breakfast" was terrible, worst hotel breakfast ever. Do not figure it as part of the price. A challenge to find a place for chargers. Looking for less expensive in Ruskin, it's OK. If you can spend more you might want to.

Expensive for what you get The only positive I can say is that the room was clean. Everything outdated, had to get tissues and toilet paper from front desk. Breakfast is limited, no de-cafe coffee available. Elevator out of order, tv is small and needed to be adjusted for us before it worked.

Hotel from hell This was by far the worst hotel Ive ever stayed in. This was definitely Halloween. Where do I begin: First the front desk clerks were rude and had a bad attitude. The room was just awful, As soon as we stepped in the room, it smelt of smoke although it was non-smoking. Don't stay there if you are one who has asthma or any other respiratory issues, The air vent gave us an immediate viral infection (after a trip to the emergency room was verified) which I really was praying that we didn't get covid 19 and the refrigerator & microwave were old and outdated, as a matter a fact, the entire room had 1970 furniture and needs a total renovation. The chair in the room looked as if it had urine on it and the lamps were dusty. There was loud talking and sounded like a gun shot in the hallway and to be honest, I thought Jeffrey Dahmer was in the room across the hall. There's only one way in & out and there was door slamming all night long! The elevator could use renovation as well and took so long to open that it seemed like bates motel or insidious was being taped. Let's not talk about this breakfast they advertise, after all the men that stay up all night long with all the noise in the world, they had the nerve to eat and pick over everything and no one was checking nor restocking what they ate. The only thing I can say nice about this hotel or rather a motel, the shower water was nice and hot but the shower head was one that I have never seen before. We didn't get but 3 hours of sleep that night because of the noise and got up real early, at the crack of dawn, and hurried up and got our stuff out of there. On our way out, I stopped at the front desk to return the room key and expressed to the on duty manager of our disappointment and how awful our stay was, he proceeded to ask me if we called the front desk to complain and I stated to him, would that have made a difference because Im sure this is not this hotel first rodeo with disappointments of their amenities. We will never and I advise anyone else to never stay at this hotel especially with the ridiculously high daily fee. I would pick sleeping in a car any day over staying here. I really wish I could get my money back but I know that wont happen so I chalk this up to being a lesson learned to research where we stay but you would think that being so close to the interstate and easy access to attractions, it would have been a much better place. My advice to anyone: Run

Good for the price... This was our second resort after having been at the Roadway inn and seeing so many roaches. I have to say how pleased I am of not just the customer service but the cleanliness of the room as well. I don't ever walk around barefoot no matter what hotel I stay in it can be the Bellagio for all I care, just remember to bring slippers every time you travel. It was late, I was tired and I just wanted to get some shut eye. They are missing a star due to the loud A/C but as tired as we were, we slept through most of the night. SIDE NOTE - DOG FRIENDLY ROOMS =)
