The best of the best cross country. I flew with a friend to Modesto to buy a car. I live on the coast in North Carolina. We drove cross country and stayed in La Quinta Inns on 5 of the 6 days. This hotel in Modesto was the cleanest, best staffed and well-maintained property that we stayed at. Compliments to everyone at this location. Oh, the breakfast was great!!

NO HOT WATER; STAY ELSEWHERE TO GO TO YOSEMITE (recommendations included in review) NO HOT WATER; STAY ELSEWHERE TO GO TO YOSEMITE (RECOMMENDATION BELOW)! During my stay at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Modesto Salida on June 25th, 2024, I checked in at 11 p.m. Only AFTER I was charged the full hotel fee and signed all appropriate paperwork, I was told that there was no hot water. Even worse, I called the hotel to tell them my check-in time earlier in the evening, when they were well aware of the issue and could have informed me in time to book another hotel. However, this information was mysteriously omitted. At check in, I was told the hot water would be restored by the morning. At this point, it was too late in the evening to find another hotel, and I had already been charged for my stay. Despite being covered from head to toe in sand from a day at the beach, I decided to suck it up and shower in the morning. However, the hot water was NOT restored in the morning. It is unacceptable for a mid-range chain hotel to lack hot (or even lukewarm) water. I reported the unresolved issue to the hotel staff upon checkout and was offered an extremely limited refund. I continued to seek a greater refund for this terrible experience, which significantly impacted my stay, to be met with the following response: “Regarding your recent stay, unfortunately, we are unable to offer to you an additional refund. -Jan Zemola, AGM” If you are looking to stay somewhere close to Yosemite, which was the purpose of my stay, El Capitan Hotel in Merced is AMAZING, affordable, and closer!

Stay here was average The staff were good and the breakfast was good. The hotel needs some upgrades especially the dirty carpets in the hallways. Otherwise the hotel was good. The support cleaning staff were fabulous. When we couldn’t get our keys to work in the door they helped was using the master key. After that the key worked.

Clean and Comfortable Our room was very clean and comfortable. They have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee station. The bedside table lamps have two outlets each and the clock also have additional outlets and USC ports. There was a desk and chair, an upholster chair, and a large TV. We had a king bed that was very comfortable and had an array of pillows in various firmness. I did find that the devet was a little too thin (and not other blanket) for my liking but we keep the room at a nice temperature so we were comfortable through out the night. The bathroom was a nice size with plenty of counter space on either side of the sink. The bathroom amenities included Dove products; shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap and lotion. It had a roomy shower/tub combo but the water pressure was low enough to shower but I was glad I didn't have to wash my hair. The towels were a good size and not those thin ones. We found that the walls were thin since we were able to hear people walking and doors opening/closing but for the most part it was quiet. Breakfast was included and they had a large variety to chose from; juices, coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, pastry, bagels, toast, make your own waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, and I think they had fruit but don't remember for sure. The front desk staff weren't as friendly as some but they got things done. However, the cleaning staff were very friendly. We have stayed here before and will stay again.

Horrible DO NOT STAY HERE. This place is like Spirit Air for hotels. You get lured in by the cheapness and then realize you’re getting what you paid for. The people in the room next to me I don’t think slept, and they kept going in and out of their room, slamming their door. I could hear them talking all night. I got about 3 hours of sleep. I went to the desk and the girl was like, “Well I can call them and ask them to stop.” She was dismissive and obviously didn’t care. I was like “Give me my money back, I’ll stay anywhere but here.” And she said, “Oh only the manager can do that and they won’t be her until morning, sorry.” Just unhelpful and basically just there to sit. I made this mistake so you don’t have to: Never stay here.
