Candlewood Suites Salina by IHG

Bummer in Salina Stayed here for 1 night because it had good ratings. When we got to our room it was very small but clean. The toilet became problematic right away and had to get a plunger from the front desk, they never commented about it, even at checkout. The air conditioner was very noisy and at about 3 am. It got very uncomfortable in the room, I dont know what happened but it finally started working again. Wont stay here again

Great room at a great value Very clean and comfortable room. Large room, full kitchen. Staff very friendly. Everything appears to be new and pristine. Free coffee. Easy parking. Quiet. I was pleased to find such a nice place. It was a relief to see just how clean everything was.

Canceled our booking 7pm day of We get a call at 7pm the day of our check-in that they have canceled our reservation. Apparently their online system overbooked the rooms and we were booted because we had booked through their front desk [THE DAY BEFORE]. Why they didn't know about the overbooking the day before escapes me. They ended up paying for our reservation at a (less nice and less clean) hotel in the area, but the hassle and anxiety caused by the switch was not worth the free night. Their receptionist was not helpful through that process either.

Average Room and out of the way This property is a ways off the highway but seemed to be in a decent part of town. Staff was nice but didn't have the room prepared as I'd asked in the reservation, so that was annoying. The room was adequate but nothing special and was pretty crowded with furniture that seemed oddly placed. We ended up having to put several pieces in the closet just to make room for our stuff.

Very nice, but could use a couple of improvements My daughter and I stayed at this Candlewood Suites for one night on our way to California. The motel was very easy to get to, and the person at the front desk was very welcoming when we arrived. There were 2 luggage carts available, which i normally do not use. However, this trip I was traveling with my daughter and her dog, and we need the luggage cart to move the dog crate and all of our luggage. The rooms were nice and VERY clean. There was a full kitchenette, desk, recliner and a queen bed in my room. The shower was nice with a shampoo and soap dispenser provided. The bed was pretty firm, but there was a choice of either soft or firm pillows. You can tell that this is an older hotel, because there were very few outlets. It would've been nice to have multiple outlets on both sides of the bed. I could not plug my phone in next to the bed, and I couldn't have my CPAP machine on my normal side of the bed because of the lack of outlets. It doesn't sound "important", but it effects the way you normally sleep because of being attached to the machine from a different direction. There was nor breakfast offered, however there were a couple of fast food restaurants very close by.
