An Excellent Place for a Vacation or Work Trip 5-stars for value. 5-stars for staff with breakfast included. 5-stars for bed. 3-stars for dated furnitures/bath. There are many great features of Sonesta Suites San Bruno. Overall 5-stars. +Price for value is excellent. +The rooms are suites with a separate bedroom with bath and a separate living area with small kitchen (including cookware and dinnerware) +The bed was very comfortable and much newer than the other furniture. +The refrigerator had an ice-maker that made plenty of ice overnight. +The staff is friendly and helpful. +The included breakfast is hearty, well-made, and plentiful with enough variety to satisfy both adults and kids. +The sofa in my room was a sectional that featured a fold-out bed and chaise. Very family friendly. +The location is within walking distance to the BART station. +Some of the rooms have updated bathrooms, but ours did not. I would prefer a walk-in shower to a bathtub with shower, but everything worked perfectly and there was plenty of hot water. +All-in-all an excellent place for vacation or work trip.

Park with care We stayed here the night before we flew out and again the night we returned. The good thing is it’s convenient and has a shuttle. The room was average but dated. The concerning thins was the first night there were two break ins of vehicles in the parking lot. The staff recommended we park out as close to the front door as possible. Thankfully are was not broken into while we were gone. .

Won't Go Back! We were on the cusp but as the week went on we decided we would not return to this hotel. Front Desk Attitude was very uneven The front desk took out luggage upon early arrival but left it in a room that was not locked, doors were open and unattended. Someone could have easily taken our luggage while we were out before check in. Wanted to charge $30 to check in an hour early Bart is NOT across the street - false advertising. Shuttle service w/in 5 miles is really available only when it suits them or when they are coming and going from the airport - very misleading Carpet is worn out Furniture is old and VERY VERY uncomfortable - needs to be replaced Hot tub was NOT regularly cleaned They have a washer/dryer on property but you need an app. The staff does NOT know how use the app and were completely unhelpful to get it working - they offer the service they should be well trained The website says the breakfast buffet is "reimagined" - not true. It is the same old tired buffet at every other hotel - just be honest! Curtains in the hotel room are worn out and rotted. Desk phone in our room did not work properly The kitchen equipment was sufficient The basketball court turns into a swamp when it rains. Really - it needs to be fixed. The hotel wasn't horrible and some of the staff were very nice. Overall the hotel is tired and worn out. If they want to charge the prices they do the hotel needs to be updated, staff need to be trained to have a positive attitude and consistency, and we deserve honest advertising on their website.

Sticky and damp carpets The carpet was damp and sticky to the point of leaving footprints on the tiles that did not dry. It smelled funky too. The sofa was tatty and lots of the furniture needs replacing, aside from the carpets. The staff at check in were kind and helped carry my heavy suitcase up a flight of stairs in the pouring rain. They did not however tell me I needed to book the airport shuttle 4 hours in advance so I had to pay for a cab. Definitely won't be staying there again! And, of course, the coffee was horrible but that's normal in the US in general.

UNPROFESSIONAL/DANGEROUS SECURITY STAFF UNPROFESSIONAL SECURITY STAFF. It’s 11pm and we get a knock on our hotel door. The security guard demands that I move my car because a large truck is going to need to park there. There were no obvious signs or traffic cones to block off these spots - a couple off to the side, but nothing obvious and clear. After re-parking my car, I went into the lobby where I found that same security guard. I asked him to come outside with me so I could show him how there weren’t any cones and that they should consider setting them up so that this doesn’t happen to another guest. He attempted to show me other parking spots with cones in them, implying that I might have moved them, which was not the case - in fact, the night before, we parked in the exact same space next to a security guard in his car, who said nothing. I told him that I didn’t care about the other parking spaces and that I don’t want to argue. I just wanted to make him aware that this might happen to another guest, and they should consider setting up obvious cones in the space i was just removed from. Somehow it escalated and turned into a verbal altercation and led to the security guard attempting to kick me and my elderly parents out onto the streets of SF at 11pm at night. He also called me a racist. The lady at the front desk did manage to de escalate the situation, but she wasn’t very helpful. I then asked her to call her supervisor. It went to voicemail, she left a message, and told me that I can speak with them when they return in the morning. We’ll see how that goes, but it DOES NOT change the unprofessional experience of having a staff member yelling at me, when I was just trying to help. Any hotel that hires an employee like that deserves this critical review. At this point, I’ve received zero apologies and as I was walking to the elevator, the security guard called me a racist again and said they don’t need our business (after I mentioned leaving this review).
